Key stats for the game, 93/80 shot attempts Det. 17/12 turnovers Detroit had the lower number. 47/33 rebounds in favor of Detroit. 26/20 assists in favor of Detroit. It doesn’t matter how you shoot, when you are so thoroughly dismantled in all the phases of the game.

Re: Game 34: Wolves vs Pistons 6:00 PM CT
Seems that Finch decide to play all for offense. ANT shine at scoring, Randle got his stat and we lose easily.... more worried, Rudy did not try to play much, going away from rebound, look not uhappy. Mike was same, shoot not much, just pass the ball ( at least much better passer than the other here) and look disinterested....how we play is just not the basketball fit for them.
At that stage, for me there is only 2 options :
- We try to get back to our last year identity, Grin and Grind style where players can be efficient. IT means trading Randle for a good PG and a back up C.
- Or going full offense and in this case Rudy, Mike and Jaden are tradable pieces because the way we play in the 3rd , they are totally useless...
I think Finch forget that Boston and Dallas make finals last year because of their offense nut almost mostly because they are able to defend a lot when PO come...
Coming weeks before trade deadline will be interesting.

Remember when Klomp was pushing that 9-4 stretch?

Why is it that this franchise cannot have nice things? We get to the 04 WCF and everything goes to ****. We don’t get back to the post season till 2018 and then Jimmy pulls his General **** and we back in franchise hell. Then we draft Ant and things start to look up, so of course we **** it up again by low selling our 2nd best player. We have butchered roster construction, we are butchering player development. We sold our future for 6 of the next 7 years, and we have a coach who cannot motivate or control the team. TC will likely jump ship and get a golden parachute in the form of his next job. This organization is cursed.

The last 10 games Mike has a +/- of -70 which fits with what he's looked like on the court. Ever since Finch stopped using the Mike/Donte/NAW/Naz/Rudy lineups his production has fallen off a cliff.

Bye Finch, last season and the record without Kat, was an aberration. He’s always been a mediocre coach and the wrong coach for Ant!

Did you watch the game at all? His teammates are so ass he had to do it all by himself. 1 assist? Sure. Couldve had more if his guys are able to make shots. Bad criticism

There are many jobs that sucks and NBA head coach is one of them. Ant is not easy to coach. Today is a classic example great stats that doesn't translate to winning. Although Finch could had done a better job.

In the other thread, when I showed you the data on how good Gobert has been historically on lobs, you complained about the lack of scale. And when the team scales up this game, you complain about too many passing it to him too much?
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU TRY TO FORCE SCALING UP HIS PRODUCTION.
An unmitigated disaster of turnovers and the complete destruction of offensive flow.
There is a REASON Rudy Gobert can only be efficient taking 8 shots or less per game.
HIS OFFENSIVE EFFICIENCY DOES NOT SCALE because he has ZERO offensive talent.
What part do you not understand?
We've been watching this same movie for 2 1/2 years now every time the team tries to force his usage up.

I did watch the game. Go back and find a single drive and kick, in the half court, (gonna exclude transition and broken floor,) literally 1. Send me the time code and I will eat all the crow you want. Ant hit his 3s and was successful on the drive. He get off the ball in traps a few times, but did nothing to create for any of his teammates. You wonder why they played so badly, they don’t have Ant or any PG creating for them.

You think that was effective PNR game with Rudy? You think Rudy had multiple well placed lobs and missed them? You think the rest of the offense was run smoothly and correctly and that only Rudy and forcing it to Rudy was to blame. Rudy was a -2, Randle was a -20. Wanna try again?

Did you watch the first 5 minutes when Rudy had 3 turnovers a blown layup and 2 missed free throws?
And maybe worst game I have ever seen from Mike.
Ant had a whole bunch of hockey assists and I thought this was one of his better games of the season dealing with the double teams, until the last 3-4 minutes where he got greedy again and playing the whole 2nd half started getting to him.
It's not where he should be at, but I thought there was some progress, especially when he was playing with Naz and Julius.
Unfortunately that lineup couldn't get any stops.
Can't believe anyone would single out Ant for this clown show of a game when his teammates had 52 points combined and he had 53 on 31 FGA.

Please go watch the first 6 minutes of the game again.
3 turnovers 2 missed free throws and a blown layup.
Randle is disgusting defensively but this was a terrible game from Rudy too.
And they've been piling up.

It isn’t about singling anyone out. It’s about pointing out that this team lacks creators, and when Ant publicly declares he doesn’t like creating, this **** happens.
Go back and watch play after play where 2 men stand in the corners and never move. It doesn’t matter who is in the game, we always play 5 on 3 with the guys guarding the corners playing build a wall against the drive. This offense isn’t just bad, it is ****ing predictable. We hit 16 3s, we shot fine from outside, but to start the game we were down 28 to 2 in paint points. This offense is BROKEN. To blame Rudy for it when he only played 29:32 and had 6 shot attempts at -2 is not the correct answer. Mike at -18 and Julius at -20 is the start of the conversation. Finch has to go, we need to start running an offense, and yes Rudy does need to be involved in it. 2 games ago it was said we are winning most games when Rudy takes 8 or more shots, and losing most when he takes 7 or fewer. New flash he was 3/6. Although he does need to rebound the ****ing ball.

Have you watched how badly Rudy was playing. I don’t think he is allergic to rebounding, but he sure as **** was acting like it.
My favorite was the rebound that hit him square in the face 8 feet away from the basket.
Unfortunately for Finch, every decision he makes with his big man rotation is a "lesser of 2 evils" situation.
Do I want my offense to be really bad or my defense to be really really bad?

Gobert had a bad game but this is not ”Forcing up production”. Many of those passes was not at good spots. They don't run the same pick and roll like last year. Just listen to Jim Pete's comment on Randle passing / not passing to Gobert. I don't think Gobert put much effort in on the roll these days because the ball isn't coming.

Any game where Rudy shoots less than 8 shots is not scaling Rudy up. It is also almost guaranteed to be a loss by the numbers.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
