Re: Countdown to heartbreak (*Draft thread pt.II)
I'd like to get either Earl Clark or Terrence Williams out of this draft as well. My problem is that I like every prospect...I just want them all.
Anyone know anything about Aaron Jackson from Duquesne? He sounds VERY intriguing in his PIT preview on draft express. A possible second rounder?

Thriving on mediocrity since '89.

I wouldn't mind swooping on Goran Suton at some point in this draft... He's like a rugged Matt Bonner.

Something about Rugged Bonners scares me...

He'd have to work hard to insert himself into the starting lineup

Re: Countdown to heartbreak (*Draft thread pt.II)
Guy was literally undraftable 2 weeks ago. That worries me. But in the 2nd u gamble. At the very least bring him in.
There is so much potential in this offseason. I think this summer we need to be aggressive while other teams are pipe-dreaming about 2010. I am just afraid to see how we screw it up in 78 days, 19 hours, 33min and 30 seconds.
78 days!!!! are you kidding me.

What the crap? Chad Ford has Ed Davis in the top 3 right now.
If the Wolves do end up staying @ 6, Davis moving ahead of them would be great, means someone like Harden could fall to us.

What do you have against Ed Davis?

Nothing, but he just kind of crept up there all of a sudden. Suddenly shooting into the top 3 was just unexpected to me since I had stopped watching college ball after the elite 8.
I actually know very little about him, I understand he's all upside, is that right?

I don't think anybody knows anything about him, he plays less than 20 minutes a game. And I thought it was strange when 6th man Marvin Williams went #2.
Good for us though, hopefully Jordan Hill and Ed Davis both go top 5

Is it a bad sign I keep getting the 8th pick?

Re: Countdown to heartbreak (*Draft thread pt.II)
brandon jennings will likely be our pick. So I need to talk myself into it. blah... I think Bassy is a decent bench pg to have, but what does Jennings give us that an immature Bassy would not? Jennings is cocky, undersized and does not play defense. Give me RUBIO

Hopefully Thabeet does as well

Jordan Hill is considered #10 now...
Harden, Jennings, Aminu, DeRozan will probably available @our pick...
I'd like if we somehow manage to trade our pick for Rubio...
The chances for that might be good if Washington sits at #2. I've read that many washington fans want to trade their pick (down) to get rid of a bad contract or/and add a veteran because they believe they do not need any more rookies because they've already good prospects in their team but could still use some veteran help for next years playoff race...
What do you think of:
Min Out: Mike Miller, Ryan Gomes, #16
Min In: Brendan Haywood, Mike James, Ricky Rubio
I'm not sure whether or not the Wizards do this trade but it gives them some depth at SF, SG they could definitely use...we get a 7 footer and Ricky Rubio, all we need for now without giving up on our own pick..
Another option might be Randy Foye and #Minnesota pick for Andray Blatche and # Wizards pick...

Jennings is definitely not the answer, he'll struggle in the nba as he does in europe.
I see his draft stock falling once he does workouts with teams, guess he'll probably be a late lottery pick...

Just because Jennings is a small quick point guard, doesn't make him the same player as Telfair. If it did, I'd assume he wouldn't be talked about as top 10 pick. He almost has to be better than Telfair by default.

I don't know if that's true. It was just a couple years ago that Telfair was traded for the number 8 pick in the draft (which turned out to be Rudy Gay...ouch). Our trade with Boston would have looked a little better if we would have gotten Gay instead of of Bassy.
I actually think Jennings stock will go up in workouts. Supposedly he's a super athletic PG and I think he's 6'1" with serious hops as opposed to 5'11". Athletes usually do well in workouts, although he might struggle in shooting drills. I always thought of him as a Marbury, super athletic PG who people say has good passing skills but seems to look for his shot a little too much for my liking, but who knows. How many of us have actually seen him outside of clips and the McDonald's game last year.

There were also salary ramifications to that trade, but anyway that was a younger Telfair with potential. I'm saying that no one would spend a lottery pick on someone that projects to become what Telfair is now. A small quick point guard without a great jump shot also sounds like Tony Parker.

This is my point, it seems knee jerk to project Jennings as another Telfair without seeing him play.

Re: Countdown to heartbreak (*Draft thread pt.II)
in my post I cited the attitude, lack of defensive desire and poor shooting. He is also small. Those are things I do not like in pg's.
