Only a two game sample, but Edwards' 3-point percentage is currently identical to what it was last season, and he's nearly doubled his volume (from 9.5 per 100 to 17.0 per 100).

Unreal Stats, this team still has a bunch of young players without minutes:

- Minott 22yo
- TJ Shannon 24yo

Well, it is not Westbrook, it is whole FA and draft trajectory for DEN. The problem is that even the best rookies from best players from late first round picks are not able to contribute in championship caliber teams. Plus Holmes injury is a real bad luck.

True. The loss of Brown and KCP, as well as no great rookies and so much money spent on the top four salaries closes so many doors, and forces them to gamble on riskier and riskier chances that don’t cost much.

I think about Garnett here after Cassell and Sprewell’s departure. We’d used up all our assets on previous runs, but we still wanted to try to win now, so we gambled on Marc Blount and Ricky Davis. They were cheap because they were so unlikely to be good, but the Wolves had to spin the wheel and hoped they got two unlikely jackpots.

Anthony Edwards leading the NBA in three pointers

1. Anthony Edwards • MIN 36
2. Buddy Hield • GSW 33
2. Jayson Tatum • BOS 33
4. LaMelo Ball • CHO 32
4. Payton Pritchard • BOS 32

It means that someone (not named in these) is struggling mightily in defense.

Randle is a defensive liability. Also, Randle might have decent assist numbers, but he takes more shots than KAT and plays more heavy iso than KAT. ISO ball when played by both Randle and Ant cools off the rest of the team.

Randle is averaging 13.4 field goal attempts per game, fewer than Karl-Anthony Towns averaged in ANY SEASON here. Same story when you look at per-30 or per-100 numbers.

Also, I'd encourage you to look at NBA.com's tracking info under the shots dashboard. It breaks down things like how many dribbles before a shot, how many seconds you had the ball before a shot, and how close the nearest defender is. Randle compares quite favorably in these areas.

I stand corrected on shot attempts. I will check into the tracking as you suggest.
