Wow. That is definitely interesting. Let's hope we win at TOR and winning at BOS will be icing on the cake. I think we played well in BOS last year and almost won.

Do you think it's a coincidence that in the last three games with Dillingham now getting more regular rotation minutes, DiVincenzo is shooting 11-25 (.440) on 3-pointers?

Yes for me it is. RD still don't pass the ball well. Shooter like DDV have up and down. He is kind of specialist of slow start then improve . If he keep improving like he did last 3 games, it will be helpful.

Which does not change my mind about RD. To improve, you have to play. I was unhappy about Finch not giving him minutes so far. He has to play 10-12 min each single game. He got the opportunity to learn and improve with great mentor Mike so it will be a total waste on my opinion to let him having DNP. Hope Finch realize that. And we can cut Mike or NAW few minutes for that.

I might not go quite so far as to draw a cause and effect but I will say the offense has a good look to it with Rob at the 1. In a way it really hasn't with anyone else. He's still gonna get manhandled on D but if he can get rotations down and stay in front of guys (perhaps full court) you might have to start giving him a real look.
From a fundamental standpoint it is better for a man to have nothing but be under the protection of Jesus Christ than for him to have everything he could ever want yet be completely without.

I think 3P% is such a variable stat, that no three game sample can be considered statistical significant, but we can be hopeful.

Yes but what this leaves out is strength of schedule. We have played a much easier 20 games and lost to a lot of them to weaker teams. This means we have a much harder road at a time when we historically don’t do as well, and at a time when we might want to rest guys more, and at a time when guys might be beat up or worse.

An easier first quarter of the season than last year? I don't think you remember last year.

Here were some of the teams we faced in the first 21 games:
Atlanta (36-46)
Utah x2 (31-51)
Memphis x2 (27-55)
Toronto (25-57)
San Antonio x2 (22-60)
Charlotte (21-61)

That was 9 of the first 21 games. Plenty of "bad wins" in that stretch as well. They took care of business better than they have to start this year. I think it comes down to clutch time. Last year, it was "Rudy didn't let us lose" in those games. We have still been in these games, but have been poorer at closing the door on teams. This year to start, Rudy has been trying to find himself as new teammates are adjusting to him on both ends of the court. We went through the same thing two years ago.

Fun fact, Jaden McDaniels got his first career double, double on December 15th 2024. Unreal stat, Jaden McDaniels made 2nd team all NBA defense a season before he got his first double, double. Put another way, Jaden McDaniels went his entire rookie contract without a double, double despite having multiple 20 point playoff performances, winning 2nd team all NBA defensive honors, and securing a big bag. Oh, and he happens to be around 7 feet tall.

MIN is now #4 in DRtg, #8 in Net Rtg .. and #19 in ORtg!

Rudy Gobert leads the team in both categories, with a 105.2 DRtg (#10) and a 130.8 ORtg (#12)

I would love to see a strength of schedule played graphic. I am genuinely curious. Add to that how many of our opponents have had a rest disadvantage. This feels like the easy part that we are wasting. I fear what happens when we get to the hard part.

It's nice to see we play defense against the good teams. What about the bottom teams?

I think the order is reasonable, but a stat like this is too heavily affected by sample size. We’re only a quarter of the way into the season, and we’re also eliminating a third of that quarter. Moreover, this early in the season teams move up and down the rankings pretty easily, so a team’s good defensive performance against an average offense might push then below 20, and then that good game doesn’t count.
