Agreed on Young. I've eyed him with the Boston pick, but he may work his way up. Thabeet is showing he can be easily outmuscled.

Lol, Thaboob follows up his monster game with a 5/4/3 statline. Dude will look like a monster against weaker comp and then fade away against upper tier comp.

I keep going from "Wolves would be stupid to pass on a player with such size and upside' to "Wolves need to avoid this likely bust at all costs". At this point I'm feeling we should only take him if we are getting extreme value(like Lopez last year). He's going to get gobbled up in the pros... at least for the first few years.

If Rubio is in this draft then he is clearly the wolves pick.

That would be a dream come true.

Rubio/Foye/Miller/Love would all be in the top 5 for passers at their respective positions.

Really - it doesn't seem like it according to their current statistics. I guess you don't mean assists or assists/TO ratios, but the more unmeasurable skill of passing - but I still don't think that's going to be true. But I guess they aren't terrible at it. Perfect for a Flip Saunders style offense I think.

Purdue is really starting to hit their stride. They just blew out Michigan St. last night. Their best player this year has been 6'-10" sophmore Jajuan Johnson. He could be someone to keep an eye on as the season progresses.

He's gotten a lot better this year. Very nice athlete with a good looking jump shot he's comfortable taking about 12-15 feet out. He's put on some muscle since last year, too and seems to be working on how to use it on the block.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

this maryland/unc game is sensational

wow, that was a crazy comeback. MD was down something like 16 w/ about 12 minutes to go and down 9 I think w/ a minute and a half to go, tied the game, and won in OT

that was one of the best college games I've seen

What is your source? I think Motiejunas could be a player at this level. You seem to know a bit about euro-ball, could you share some thoughts on Pekovic? (*who I am surprised is not on your list, but considered pretty universally as a top-3 euro prospect)

Jrue=Poo

Seriously though, you can't ignore numbers all the time. And with the numbers Jrue has been putting up he probably won't declare. At this point, unless he blows people away in the workouts/interviews, I wouldn't be surprised to see his draft stock drop drastically almost guaranteeing that he returns to UCLA next year.

If we get the 9th pick and Evans is off the board and Rubio is in the old world, are you telling me you do not consider the best defensive pg prospect? A player who fits a difficult system and is more concerned with teammates then with stats?

STRENGTHS:

- Decision making
- Executes offensively
- Pick and roll play
- Versatility
- Ability to create own shot
- Change of gears/Hesitation moves
- Ability to fight through screens
- Ability to get in passing lanes
- All-around defense
- Defensive awareness
- Defensive fundamentals
- Lateral quickness
- Off-ball defense
- Versatility to defend multiple positions
- Basketball IQ
- Likelihood of reaching potential
- Role-player potential
- Unselfishness
- Winning mentality
- Work ethic
- Positional versatility
- Young for class
- Court vision
- Solid passer
- Ability to finish around basket
- NBA body
- Size for position
- Wingspan
- Excellent rebounder

WEAKNESSES:

- Ability to get to free throw line
- Go-to scoring mentality
- Not a true point guard
- Stuck between 1 and 2
- Limited upside?
- Not always assertive
- College system makes him difficult to evaluate
- Jack of all trades, master of none?
- Not productive enough
- Relatively unproven
- Tweener?
- Average explosiveness
- 3-point range
- 3-point shooting percentages
- Free throw shooting
- Pull-up jumper
