I did get the feeling he was deflecting questions, and it could be three things.

1. He doesn't want to play for Minnesota
2. His agent doesn't want him to say anything until he works on his buyout
3. We drafted Johnny Flynn and he could see it as a PG battle, but that wasn't Kahn's intentions.(Meaning he's a little bitter about playing here)

He just sounded pissed because it seems like the questions being asked were funneling him to say "I want to play for the Wolves" and he knew that.

and plus when he said " HUH I CAN'T HEAR YOU?" and the audio after that, you get the feeling he's getting pissed that he's being asked the same questions over and over(Do you want to play in the NBA?)

That sounds reasonable to me. I think he could've likely been annoyed that he was being asked questions that he didn't want to answer directly. But I think he did a good job standing in there.

I'm glad that you acknowledge he did sound as if he was deflecting questions. No need for a forensics expert for that .

But even if we did not draft Flynn he would have been worried about competing with Telfair because he thinks like Knicks fans everything should just be handed to him.

Just think how Flynn feels sitting there knowing he can't even try earn his pg spot if Rubio shows up because he guaranteed a starting spot KG wasn't Kobe wasn't but Rubio is?

I also understand why the other Wolves fans are getting pissed, too.

We've been in arguments with Knick fans and other posters telling us to just trade Rubio, or he is a knick for sure, or we made a big mistake.

The only reason i'm at least able to not just say "RUBIO WANTS TO PLAY HERE STFU" is because i've stayed away from the arguments, because I want to keep my opinion on Rubio unbiased

Q:You want to play in Minnesota this year?
A: "(Pause)Yeah...I want to play in the NBA"

Q: This year?
A; "I don't know, this year or next year, because the buyout is big. But I want to play in the NBA"

Q: Do you think that the fact you went 5th will factor into (coming over) rather than 2nd or 3rd?
A: "Yessss....(sigh)."

The tone of the entire audio is very, very non-committal. It does not give any sign of excitement to play for the Wolves.

He does say that the weather won't bother him and that he just wants minutes. But the tone of his answers show a lot of deflection towards attaching himself to Minnesota.

Doesn't sound good. And that's just my take on it.

I heard the audio when it first dropped I also came to the conclusion he sounded noncommittal. To me it doesn't sound very promising. A t the same time I have to chalk some of that up to the possibility that he is speaking in a foreign language, is probably a little bit on the defensive and probably really doesn't know how he feels about playing in Minnesota. All he has done is heard things about Minnesota, he hasn't been there. At 18, a l lot of people would be anxious about going to a place that doesn't have the greatest perception.

Those reporters to me came off in a way where someone may think they were being slightly hostile at times. Maybe Rubio didn't like their tone or was put off by it. Still he seemed to stray in territory that was very noncommittal. He rarely referred to the wolves themselves. I don't know what to chalk this up to for sure but there are defiantly red flags. That's another reason why I wanted us to get him out to the Twin Citites.

I want Rubio and his family to see what this area is like for themselves. I want them to get to know the organization and its plan so that they feel more comfortable. I think a lot of Rubio's reservation would be alleviated if he spent some quality time with the cities and the staff. IMO I see a clear need to establish a comfort level, Rubio may be taking this transition harder than most NBA draftees do.

I think it's a combination that he's speaking English and also probably has orders from his agent to be careful and non-committal with his words.

I am spanish myself, we always sound angry or annoyed when speaking in english. Our tone is harsh.

The problems are coming from his current team, the GM is taking a hard position ( I dont know if border line legal), he says Rubio is not going to play there if he doesnt stop the legal claim. I think the GM is desperate, he has bankrupted the team and he wants to blame Rubio for it.

The team is making fun of the ad that Rubio did for McDonalds:

Did you listen to the audio?

Yes as I stated in an earlier post most of us have read and heard every possible interview before making our decision. I am not saying he sounds extatic but I am not drawing my conclusions on voice tone. There are so many possible reasons: time difference, long day, 100th interview that day, being picked 5th instead of earlier, or maybe not happy with MN as you stated.

Remember between 2nd pick and 5th is roughly $6,000,000. I can imagine him not being extatic about that.

Why is his old team acting like jackasses? It seems these guys slam him every chance they get.

I've come to the conclusion that 95% if Knick fans are arrogant morons without the ability to have an adult discussion without lying, distorting facts, or acting like a child.

I realize by me posting this I'm acting like them, but if a child screams at the top of their lunges, "I'm not listening" long enough, eventually you want to punch them in the face.

Cavs fans annoyed me for the longest time, but I now feel for them.

I don't live in MIN or have ever been to MIN, but are we really last place? Really?

I spend 1/3 of my year in San Jose and the other 2/3 in MN. I have been offered jobs in San Jose where the guy did try and play weather as a big difference, but personally I like the change of the seasons. It is not like we are 200 years ago where we freeze and starve. I have a fireplace, I have a truck with heated seats. I personally hate driving in the rain more than snow. I like winter.

I know this would be a difficult question for you guys to answer since it's highly speculative, but do you think that if Rubio decides to stay overseas next year that he still might play for the twolves summer league team?

No, summer league would make no sense for Ricky if he was planning to stay overseas.

He is playing for Spain in the European Championship in September.

Did anyone watch the EA Sports Fan Question interview with Craig Sager? He said that he and his dad love Italian food/pastas so he wants to see if Minnesota has any of that...someone just do a quick research on the best Italian food places in Minnesota and send it to Ricky and I bet he will sign on the dotted line if that is his major concern!

haha man that guy is something...I wasn't mistaken when I posted that Jennings was an idiot at the wolves predraft workouts with all the cursing, slamming the ball and hanging on the rim...I am so glad he is not a wolf. But I hope he is right in saying that lol
