Going to be a really bad time to be a .500ish team in the west because the Grizzlies can easily cost you some precious games and cost you some seeding for the rest of the season. Wont be an easy out.

We only play them twice, even if we split one (I think we win both,) they will do us more good than harm.

Griz are getting Smart back any day, and Kennard probably next week.

Brandin Podz went down with a back injury with around a minute left in the half. Had to take a timeout to tend to him. He was helped to the lockerroom.

If I'm reading you right you're giving them no shot at even making the play in or do I have that wrong?

Yes, I was thinking they would be 9 games behind after last night but they pull it off. However, I still stand by my comment that they have no shot at the play-in.

Is Rosas behind NYK smart moves? I like how they assemble a group of tough guys. Also it is crazy to think that MIL needs now exactly DDV type of off ball defensive minded guy

I missed the story, but apparently the Knicks lost Robinson for the year? That is a major blow for them and could really shake up the trade market.

Hartenstein is just about as good and may be better, but they have to use Sims now which is a downgrade.

Sims is out as well for the next couple weeks. Hart is okay, but he isn’t the rebounder that MR is. Also as you mentioned it is a major depth blow. Randle is not well equipped to play center against most NBA bigs.

Pistons have a chance to win tonight. Utah is benching almost their entire team.

They signed Taj Gibson, and he played 13 minutes last night

I didn't realize that Sims was out also now. Hart isn't the rebounder that Mitch is, but he's a much better offensive player. I consider them equal or slight edge to Hart.

OK, I know it's easy to shorten Hartenstein to Hart, but might I suggest avoiding this crutch for clarity's sake when there's another player on the roster named Josh Hart.

Monte Williams is burning thru his reputation credits quickly here. He is the highest paid coach with a long term contract but 24 in a row is embarrassing even for a tanking team. I don't even know who they are tanking for. I can't see LBJ sign with them even if they spend the first pick on Bronny. Anyone not name Monte would have been fired by now.

I really don't think it's tanking. They are talented, but just crazy young. We've seen that it takes a while to build a solid foundation, and it's even harder when your core group is so young. They need adults in the room (honestly, Kyle makes sense for them...and San Antonio).

I spelled out Hartenstein in the initial reply.

I hear you and I almost continued to spell it out for that very reason, but given context there should have been no problem knowing who we were talking about.

I imagine Pop and Kyle have a good relationship.

I think Kyle can help SAS but not Detroit. Part of their issues is that they can’t shoot and Kyle won’t add to that.
