Ant.

In all seriousness, there is nothin else on our roster that could get us even close to Maxey.

Naz and Bones for Ajay Mitchell, Jaylin Williams and Kenrich Williams?

OKC gets the best player, but Ajay has looked good. MIN plugs their biggest holes, but needs to find a way to replace Naz offense off the bench.

I think those players look good on OKC, but wouldn't look good here. Pass.

Go back in time and take him at 16 like I and a few others hoped.
Could have then traded up from 33 for Jaden… Rosas almost hit a grand slam that draft but got too caught up on that european i can’t even remember his name.

If someone goes back to that thread, they'll see both of us pounding the table for the Wolves to draft Maxey. I didn't think he would be THIS good, though.

Of course, I also wanted Wiseman over Ant so my opinions are generally worth less than a kick to the marbles.

Dude. Clippers are 5-16. Go and get Harden and Paul now. Randle, RD, and Miller is very close.

Also, would you trade Rob for Collier and Love?

Harden is too old to be added. We need players for Ant’s prime window, not dead end salary that we cannot replace when it expires. He turned 36 in August, which means he will be 37 next year and 38 in what I consider to be the key season. I would turn my focus to 27/28 as the start of our true key window.

Our Window is right now. This could be a championship season.

Proctor is starting to come on for the Cavs, which could mean Ball becomes expendable.

There’s been love for Lonzo on the Wolves board over the last couple of years, but apron issues would require a third team.

Salary matching is tough for both MIN and CLE as well. Mike Conley would be the best piece for MIN to send out, but I don’t think Tim Connelly will break his word, and trade Mike to a place he wouldn’t be willing to go. I looked at sending Mike and as asset to MEM, but with CLE’s financial situation, they need salary relief (or cheap talent), and MEM doesn’t have much that would be better for them than simply declining Lonzo’s $10 mil team option next year for payroll relief.

The other likely salary piece MIN could send out is Donte DiVincenzo. DDV has found his game again. He’s 9th in the NBA in three pointers at a 40% clip, and has a second cheap year, both things that MIN needs to counterbalance Gobert. It looks like Lonzo is really struggling on his 3P% this year (28.2%), which is crucial for him. However, MIN’s need for other things Lonzo provides (assists, boards, defense) might mean his fit is even better. I have DDV > Lonzo, so a deal might look like

MIN GIVES: DiVincenzo
MIN GETS: Lonzo, some 2nds

CLE GIVES: Lonzo
CLE GETS: (expirings, cheap contracts?)

THIRD TEAM GIVES: expirings, cheap contracts, some 2nds
THIRD TEAM GETS: Donte DiVincenzo

1. I strongly disagree. We have shown very poor scheme work and even worse very poor scheme defense for most of the season.

2. We have not yet figured out how to optimize most of our key talent. Jaden doesn’t shoot enough and most of his shots are difficult at best. Naz’s defense is very inconsistent, and most of his opportunities are catch and shoot 3s. Naz needs to improve his back down (especially when facing a double,) and he needs to improve his boxing out (way too much standing around on both types of rebounds.) DDV still has issues with turning it over when attacking and not consistently contributing offensively, Randle still plays way too much ISO, Ant just had 5 TOs in the first quarter, and picked up 3 techs in 4 games, ect…

3. Joan is not ready, TSJ is not ready, Dilly is not ready, and Clark is not ready. When you consider that Mike is cooked and not going to be useful in the playoffs that leaves us 6 ready players, and half of them are not optimized (Jaden, Naz, DDV,) while Ant and Julius are both capable of being shut down by the defense (Randle one on one, Ant on team,) and Rudy is never properly utilized do to lack of PNR and trouble lobbing to him for a dunk.

I doubt we could beat a healthy OKC, I doubt we could beat a healthy SAS, and I think Denver would be a war that would leave us worn down. I think we are at our lowest point since 22/23 and we need at least 2 years to recover. The moves made now will make or break that recovery and decide the future of Ant.

Sure, this could be a championship season, but I would like a longer time line than Harden and others provide. TSJ and Clark are ready, but can be better. Dilly NEEDS to play so that down the line he can be what he was projected to be. He needs to make those mistakes and not get yanked so he can see what needs to happen, just like Ant can see what needs to happen quicker when he is handling the ball. It is not yet time to blow up the team.

I didn’t say it was. What I said our best chance to win a chip is when Ant is 26, Jaden is 27, Naz is 28, and most of our young players have had this season, and 26/27 to develop. The Ant prime window. Any trade we make should look more to winning at that time, then now. Now Joan and Dilly are unlikely to playoff ready, Mike is not what he used to be, Ant and Jaden are not mature enough, Naz seems off, ect…
