I'm on the Sanders bandwagon... I've put him down as our mid round pick in the last couple of offseason plans... I think he'd fit in perfectly on our team; and I'm pretty sure he's a fairly solid defensive player as well.

I'd take him over Patterson, Monroe, Brackins, Pittman, and maybe even Motiejunas... the only mid round guys I'd consider taking before him are Cousins, Udoh, maybe Alabi and even then there's a good chance I'd take Sanders before some of those 3

Harris killed it tonight. Gonzaga's going to make a big tourney run and Harris will be in the top 10.

Turner/Harris/Sanders

That's my dream right there.

I'm all in on Harris with our later picks/trading up for him.

That would be pretty solid.

Edit: Although we would still need some outside shooting from the wing through trades or free agency.

Varnado w/ the sick triple double in the 82-80 victory over the Razorbacks:
17 points, 12 rebounds, 10 blocks

Last night was my first time seeing the Zags this year and Harris looked damn good. He's a bit of a combo forward as opposed to a straight SF. His handle is shaky at best but dude is a sick athlete and unlike alot of these really young athletes, dude is jacked up and doesn't mind contact. He hit a few jumpers last night but has a pretty slow release. Maybe the best thing about the guy is he seems to scrape and play hard all the time.

I'm interested to see him play against a higher level of competition. Definitely a guy who could go top ten if last night was legit.

Edit: For those who have seen him before, can he create on his own and is his handle better than it looked last night? When he put it on the floor it looked like he was basically a two dribble straight to the basket guy who couldn't really change direction. My concern is that he sort of reminded me of Joe Alexander when he was at WVU. Alexander's lack of ball handling and 3 pt shooting have made him a lotto bust.

I am much more intersted in Varnado with our late teens pick. I like his ability to block shots and the fact that he has good athleticsm is much more appealing if we still want to run and create fast break opportunities. Plus I am secretly hoping for Ricky Rubio to toss alleyoop passes to Varnado and Harris/Aminu. Mid-Late Teens may be too high for Varnado right now though...

Yeah I've been a fan of Varnado for a while now. The team could probably trade back down to get him (or even just outright buy a late pick) and he just seems to me like he'll be a solid role player, like Wayne Ellington, which is what the team should be looking for from a backup power forward. Just someone who can come in for 10 minutes a night and change the game a little (in Varnado's case by being a shotblocker).

However if I had to pick between him and Sanders, I'd definitely pick Sanders.

Anybody watching Johnson on ESPN? Looks like Brewer that can shoot and plays under control. But how much of an upgrade over Corey W.Johnson will be? especially since Brewer's recent improvement? I don't see a star in Johnson, picking him over a baller like Turner will be a big mistake, Johnson doesn't make thing happen, he plays off somebody else's play, he's a system player. Allstar wing should be able to create for himself and others.

I'm not that high on him. He's a good player but then you see his age and other concerns...Turner, Henry>Johnson

Johnson's impact on the game is less than Brewer's overall. But...when Johnson gets hot it's over. I like Brewer cuz he is always someone you have to be aware of, whereas Johnson will disappear for a while at a time.

Johnson almost didn't play today because he has a cold. Don't put too much weight into today's performance.

Ed Davis looking good Vs Lawal and Favors. I hope someone values Davis over Turner if we slip in the draft.

Would anyone be opposed to us taking Ed Davis if Wall, Turner, Johnson, and Henry are gone? We'll most likely have the 2nd worst record this year which means the worst we would pick is 5th. We don't need another power forward but Davis and Favors would be the best players available at that point.

that would be a tragedy considering we have the 2nd worst record in the league.

I'd rather reach for Aldrich in this case, no more power forwards for me, and then try to trade Big Al for Turner. Henry and Johnson are not worth it, Wall is a pipe dream

At this point I doubt Turner, Johnson and Henry go 2,3 and 4. Someone has to pick a big namely Favors or Davis.

I have no doubt we'll get Wall, Turner, Johnson or Henry. The question is whether we get the right one of those 4. The one who pans out and becomes a stud.

Looking at the current needs of the 5 worst teams (MN excluded)

NJ: a SG, SF or PF stud
GS: a big man stud
WSH: a stud, no matter which position
DET: a stud - (they would probably prefer it to be a big man)
PHILLY: Wall or Center

I think it is save to say that at least one of these teams will pick a PF or even C (Aldrich) if we slide to #5. We'll be in position to draft Wall, Turner, Johnson or Henry if all these guys declare I promise you (I have a little doubt that Henry might want to increase his draft spot by staying one more season if he slips down to like 7-9 in a few months)
