The money could be a factor but I do think play style was even bigger. We just don't play a style that's good for his limited strengths. Bazz needs to be in transition, he needs touches, and needs see the ball go in. When he has done well on Bucks he has gotten good looks, quick transition points and that has opened up his jumper a bit.

I just dont think the playstyles matched up and Bazz isnt talented enough to adjust his game to fit. On top of all that was his broken mental state and it was a recipe for disaster.

Lets add Lance Stephenson to the list of players who couldn't do much on the wolves but got good after.

I mean....

How often does someone get injured twice during two ten day contracts?
We were just unlucky.

It's a whole different feeling playing with players who actually care about winning and losing.

Culture, players that fit the system and buy into it, huge. Wolves haven't had that in a long time. Its the elusive well oiled machine I talk about and its probably the answer to my question of "Why ant we have these huge win streaks." There is an element of cohesion that these teams have that we haven't been able to attain. Coaching staff and players need to be on the same page. Its great that Rubio gets to experience that in the NBA finally.

I really wonder how much going back to Minnesota for the vet minimum after turning down money he'll never see again messed with his head. If the rumors are true that he showed up at practice drunk, there's no way he could have ever worked in Minnesota because of the money situation.

The Shabazz situation should be relatable to anyone who has a job, if your company came to you and said they'd want to give you a long term contract for your job with a lot of money, you turn it down thinking there's more out there only to find out if you want to keep getting paid you'd have to take minimum wage where you currently were employed, you'd probably not be all that happy nor give even a good effort because of resentment towards the company although you made the decision not to take the millions.

I feel really bad for Shabazz and I think Minnesota lost good asset because Shabazz rolled the dice and lost and that put himself in a funk. This season's production in Minnesota was way worse by far than anything else he's done in the NBA. But of course, if Shabazz turns it around(which I think he can) it'll be blamed on Thibs not getting the most out of Shabazz. There's nothing Thibs could do with Shabazz losing around 9 million dollars last season alone.

Although Minnesota may be losing a good asset in Shabazz because of the situation, Minnesota may be gaining a good asset because of situations with D.Rose. He was a decent high volume scorer in NY, played out of position in Cleveland and then joined Thibs again who knows how to utilize him.

Link to these "Shabazz came to practice drunk" rumors? I haven't seen that ever (tho could you imagine having a Thibs-like boss. Holy ****)

The thing that changed for Ricky was that people watched him for the first time.

I heard it from an NBA podcast, not exactly sure which one.

The Jazz have no chance with him, either. Do people forget the Jazz have this guy named Donovan Mitchell? The Jazz were down 2 when Ricky pulled his hamstring. Mitchell led them to the win as he was doing all series.

You need to start watching basketball, not only highlights.

So Ricky didn't get a triple double against one of the best PGs in the league in a playoff game? Are we just going to conveniently ignore that?

They had no chance against the Rocket either way, but no doubt he's important.

I'm not ignoring that, but the series is bigger than one game.

Ricky isn't the [sole] reason they won that series, and the lack of Ricky won't be the [sole] reason they lose against Houston.

Nobody is the sole reason, it's a team game. What's your point?

Is Ricky still the PG (next year) after DM showed he can handle it?

But lets face it, the rockets looked awful last night. And the whole playoffs to be honest.

Mitchell has played PG in stretches all year. Usually it's gone pretty well for 2 minutes stretches but more than that it hasn't.
