No Shaka Smart. No Brad Stevens. No Flip Saunders. No Fred Hoiberg. No Buzz Williams.

I wonder if FGCU's coach is next. I can't believe he'd pass.

I'm still surprised considering Teague's track record that he's not going after top assistants. Now that the big names are gone I hope he will.

I hope we trade our pick. This draft stinks anyway. We dont need another guy to develop we need quality guys that can contribute asap. Love/Rubio is already a potentially lethal tandem and all we need to do is surround them. Pick+ williams + expiring(roy or rid or both) is i think more than enough to net us a high quality sg + role player.
And about the backup C position, let's hope shved and AK are sending love messages to Mozgov. He plays really well in that russo team. I watched a segment about him and it was said that language barrier was a big problem for him. With russian teammates i think he can be a serviceable Center if Pek gets hurts(which is frequent)

I don't think it's possible - what high quality shooting guard is on the market that you think they should target?

What's your take on Giannis Adetokunbo with the Memphis pick?

Risky pick, of course, but potentially with very high reward.

We could trade for a solid player like brandon rush or courtney lee. THEN draft a sg with potential. This would solidify our 2 guard depth.

Shved has played more like a PG all year.

LOL at all the coaches turning down the Gophers job. What did I tell you? just ridiculous to me that people assumed a coach like Shaka Smart was going to jump at the opportunity to come here because of a prior relationship. Before Tubby got fired there were tweets and people saying, "I hope the Gophers lose so we can fire Tubby and seal Shaka!"

Please. I don't know where Minnesota gained this overnight dream job presitge all the sudden. As I said before it was a damn miracle we landed a coach like Tubby in the first place and to get another respected coach will take time, time we might now have with this current recruiting class being so good and us having no coach in place to recruit. Now there is a scramble. I just hope we don't have to settle in a rush and then have to deal with another stretch of pure mediocrity.

Can't believe I'm about to say this, but I'm intrigued by the thought of MCW on this team.

Easy yes for me. However, I think he's going to rise up out of our reach for that pick. He seems like a Batum type prospect. PG for his team, freakish length/athleticism, good jumper, incredible hand size as well.

he very well may be going to the hoop summit as the 11th man so his exposure will climb through the roof as will his stock if he performs well.

Yeah. It would be insanely tough to continue playing after seeing that up close.

The reactions were surreal. There were three Louisville players collapsed on the floor before they even explained what happened.

He looks like he's a couple years away from the NBA to me, which might make his stock drop a bit. I like his skill set, though, and I'd be happy with picking him and stashing in Europe for a year or two.

Giannis seems like a much better Prospect than that Bjelica guy all the European posters seem to love.

there really isn't that many cringe worthy basketball injuries. i guess livingston, noel, and bogut are the more well known injuries. fortunately some replays don't really show how bad an injury really is (like ford or turner).
