5/125.
if that's and ascending deal the first year value on that would be 21.55 million
A little high after his playoff performance but still below Jaden's deal, which I though would be his ceiling.

Smart to not let him hit the open market, and we lucked out he was a free agent in such a tight cap year.

You have to think this means NAW is gone.
If Julius signs an extension now he's going to have to take a discount, we can't be competetive long term paying 3 frontcourt players 85-90 million starting this year, although that's better than the near 100 million we would have paid just KAT and Rudy this year before the KAT trade and Rudy extension.

Julius becomes a prime trade candidate if he opts in now.

Ant, Jaden, and Naz are all locked in for the next 4 years now and can all become free agents in the summer of 2029.

Edit: my first calculations was errorneously for 10% raises. 21.55 is correct.

That's a steal of a deal. 25 a year in 5 years is going to pennies, especially for a guy like Naz

Will it?

He's still a poor defender and rebounder and he seems to have plateaued.

Is he worth 7M/year more than Gafford?

Yes easily

good for Naz, had a bit of a down year in consistency but he should still be an ascending player

and like most of the roster, will really benefit if the Wolves can upgrade their PG play from last season

Unless he falls off a cliff that should still be a tradeable contract.
Congrats Naz!

If it's ascending it would look like this (rounded)
21.55 with yearly raises of 1.72 million

21.552
23.276
25.000
26.724
28.448 (player option)

Gafford just got a 20 per extension. And he can't shoot outside of 8 feet.

Now the next point is keeping Randle or trade him. Starting NAZ and getting a PG is probably a good idea if we can. I’m still afraid to run it with Mike and Rob. Mike is great but he is 38 min and should not play more than 16-18 min per game and Rob is a work in progress. Getting a strong PG will make the team better.

3/54 according to Spotrac. And he rebounds and defends at a high level.

Him and Naz had the same amount of rebounds last year

Did we pick Naz Reid over Julius Randle?

We need a 3rd rotation big, whether it’s Randle or someone else.
