I disagree. I hope at least $20 million of it is unlikely to be earned incentives. WAY TOO MUCH!!
A few things to consider:
1. Contracts are all rising fast in the last month of so for these sub-Star players.
2. Non-FA-destination teams need team control, so five years is nice. Good to see players (Naz too) buying in here.
3. MIN avoids a year of indecision, and perhaps Jaden souring on us, like the Ayton drama soured him on the Suns
4. Jaden avoid a year of indecision, and can focus on playing basketball, not overdoing it for contract.
I get that this feels like a lot of money, but after that shock wears off, I think you’ll be happy in a few weeks with he deal.

Conley too might be on his way out.

I suspect that we will have a better idea by January. If things aren’t going really well (like, Top 4 in the tough West), I think we’ll hear trade rumblings for both. KAT would return better value, so he’s more likely. But if things are going great, I wonder if Lore and ARod won’t just pay the tax? Remember, if they want public support for a new stadium, they need to get the public behind them. If their first move as full owners is to make the team worse to save money, the public isn’t going to like it.
Either way, I doubt Kyle Anderson will be back next year.
Also want to set the expectation that Wolves have a tough starting schedule 16 games schedule. I am glad they were serious about the pre season. We should be happy with a 8-8 start.

Bruh we pay Gobert 40 mill a year. This is a way better deal.

What does the amount we are paying Rudy have to do with Jaden's deal? Answer.. Absolutely nothing.

Devin is a much better offensive player. Jaden is a better defender. If I could trade Jaden for Devin would I? Tough call, but I think I would. Hopefully we see many beautiful, unlikely to be earned incentives in the deal, that bring the cost down or he meets the incentives all the better.

Your opinion is we're paying too much for Jaden. By relative respect given the type of player Jaden is I would argue he's worth more than Gobert. Therefore if we are paying Gobert 40 mill, 27 for Jaden is a solid price.

Is he? Vassell scored a bunch of points for the 29th ranked offense in the league.
Jaden shot better from everywhere on the floor but 16' out to the arc. And overall killed him on 2PT% (59% to 48%).
Granted, Devin shoots a lot more than McDaniels, and we don't know if Jaden's efficiency will scale - but if it does, he's probably the better player on both ends.
