I don't understand the love for Aldrich. He's been fairly bad this season in the games I've seen and with what Minnesota would have to do to get him (either spending their own pick or using assets to move up) he just doesn't seem worth it, especially with the lack of shooters on this team.

I reached out this week to four NBA scouts for their opinions on the elite players in this year's draft (assuming those players declare for it). They agreed on two points: That this will be a weak draft, and that three players at the top have separated themselves from the pack. Based on their analysis, I am now viewing this as a three-player draft, with a big drop-off thereafter.

Their top 3 are Wall, Turner, and Johnson with Aldrich and Warren trailing a bit behind. I agree it will most likely go Wall-Turner-Johnson (in that order), but I wouldn't have even bothered listing Warren or Aldrich next just because nobody in the draft (outside of those three) really made a strong enough case to justify it yet.

Congratulations Johnson, you made a believer out of me. Join the Orange Revolution.

Between Turner and Johnson, who's the better defender?

Turner IMO. Johnson plays strictly zone defense so it's hard to say how good he's going to be.

I like how DX has Turner's best case scenario as Anthony Parker.

I would have said (as a ceiling anyway)

Wall= What everyone thought Rose would be
Turner= Roy
Johnson= Gay

I like how DX said on their Twitter:
Evan Turner is so good its a joke. Seriously need to start thinking about bumping him up to #2 on our mock. Glad we were on him so early.

When they were behind most every fanpost that I remember reading. Not taking that website nearly as seriously as I did ~2 years ago because they aren't anything special (though certainly better than NBADraft.net).

I'd say there is a big dropoff in talent after the 1st 4 picks in the draft. After Wall, Turner, Favors, and Johnson, who would you have above Aldrich? You have to consider the fact that his minutes have decreased compared to last year, but his blocks have increased to 3 and a half per game. We need a defensive presence down low, so he would fit in very nicely.

Not quite. There is a .613 chance of being guaranteed at least one of those guys. And that of course is assuming the top 3 reach their ceiling, but lets see how well Thabeet, Griffin, and Harden are doing compared to Rubio, Flynn, and Evans. Lets go a year earlier and check on Beasley, Rose, and Mayo and compare them to Love, Westbrook, and Gallinari.

We may not NEED a top 3 pick to get wall, turner or Johnson( especially Johnson ), very possible a big makes his way up there.

^At the very least they'd need a top 4 pick though. Even if a big makes it in (maybe Favors or Davis if someone falls in love with their potential) I doubt the team sees two bigs go ahead, say, Johnson. He really has become a good prospect.

I think I'm coming around on Johnson too. Obviously he's still 3rd but it'd be more like "yay we got Johnson" then "sucks we missed Turner or Wall". Plus he does seem to fit better with the eventual plan to bring Rubio over and he should be able to provide some half decent shooting.

I agree top 4 pick. I think we will get that, lord knows we are due for some luck.

If worst comes to worst, trade up a late pick or something and go up and get your player.

I think you really to come out of this draft with 1 of wall, turner, johnson, prefer that order too.

Good mix tape of Wesley Johnson, you get to see his athleticism and shooting ability. 51 second mark that block was sick how he got up. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hxl8--py ... re=related

Espn has some games to watch tonight. Gtown Syracuse followed by Mizzou and KU. My first chance to really watch Wesley Johnson. Also I think Aldrich is still a good bet to go pretty high in the draft. His minutes will increase come tourney time, KU just have so much depth his minutes are going down, plus with Marcus Morris and Collins playing so well they aren't feeding Aldrich as much, but he's grabbing boards and blocking everything.

Gay is a very bad comparison for Johnson. I would say Granger.

I'm thinking maybe Deng wouldn't be a bad comparison for Wes Johnson.

The prince comparison is horrible. Not as long, much stronger, much better shooter, and he is a questionable defender. I cannot understand why you would make that comparison.

His mid-range pull up is very Sean Elliot. He is a scorer. For me Turner is the man right now.

let me clarify, Johnson seems to be a willing defender, but he gets lost on help sometimes and using the term "prospect" and "undeveloped" with "23" is a scary thought. I think the kid wants it, but he might be a Wallace type that does not put it all together until 26 or so.

If Wall and Turner are gone I like Johnson.
