Looking ahead to the offseason

I think Robin Lopez sucks, personally.

Udoh, I sort of like as a back up big. There's not much room for upside, but he's a good fit.

He's definitely not very good, but he has size and is a defensive presence that can play 10-20 minutes a night. His fg% blows this year, but he's over 50%(nearly 60% 2 years ago) for his career. If he would be cheap he could be someone Kahn would look at I'm sure.

Asik would be nice, but it would be hard to justify paying him to be a backup when our wings are so bad. Since his contract can only be MLE for the 1st 2 years we'd have to offer a pretty good chunk in the 2nd half for Chicago to be scared off. Probably would be best to let someone else offer him to be a starter.

Wow Turnover_21 -- Willaims AND Pek for Hibbert???

I realize that would be overpaying for Hibbert but the guy is 7'2 center that is good on both ends of the floor. Hibbert is an allstar center. He's got a complete offensive game and is a presence clogging the lane on D, he's also a good passer and he will flourish under Adelman. Indiana won't let him go unless given a generous return, he's a big part of a good winning team. Again I think he will improve next to Love, Rubio and Adelman.

I realize that would be overpaying for Hibbert but the guy is 7'2 center that is good on both ends of the floor. Hibbert is an allstar center. He's got a complete offensive game and is a presence clogging the lane on D, he's also a good passer and he will flourish under Adelman. Indiana won't let him go unless given a generous return, he's a big part of a good winning team. Again I think he will improve next to Love, Rubio and Adelman.

You have a decent point about how well Hibbert would fit here. However, I do think giving up both of them would be overpaying.

Taylor said President David Kahn and the Wolves will continue to build a playoff contender in the offseason. They already re-signed Kevin Love during the season.

"David has (financially) positioned us really well," Taylor said. "In order to have a championship team, teams generally have three or so big contracts. Kevin's our first along that line. So we've left flexibility and have some choices."

The Wolves intend to be in the free-agent market.

"Yes," Taylor said. "We have a lot of planning. Our coaches will work with the guys through the summer and into the fall, which I think will help rookies like (Derrick) Williams and (Malcolm) Lee. Wes (Johnson) didn't have the year we expected him to have, but maybe with the coaches over the summer, they can work on his shooting."

He's an all-star but probably shouldn't have been.

I don't feel he has much of an offensive game let alone a "complete one".

I do agree however that he'd be the best post defender on the team with a bullet.

Pek and Williams is way too much in my opinion.

This was a really good interview. I do quite like David Kahn. My takeaways:

Beasley will be dealt in a sign and trade.
Ridnour is a great asset to keep or trade.
Everybody other than Love and Rubio are available for trade.
There will be significant turnover on the roster this offseason.
Anthony Randolph makes his own chances to stay with the team worse.
Darko is a serious disappointment (that was damn near an apology). One way or another he will probably not be back.

I got the sense that Kahn really wants Randolph to work out here. He seemed disappointed when he mentioned the AR airball seconds after entering the game. Actually, if AR had at least half a brain, he has some of the physical skills Adelman wants from his center.

My gut feeling is that one of the Anthonys will be here next year and one of them won't. It's a battle of Adelman's guy (Tolliver) and Kahn's guy (Randolph). Who wins out?
