I've never heard of the guy, but the obvious question would be: If he's so good why would he be around at 26?

He has some good skills - maybe more PG than SG - and he was highly touted coming out of high school. But he was ruled academically ineligible and didn't play a single game in college. I think he's only 2nd round right now because nobody has seen him play for over a year. He seems to be rising, though. Not sure if he would be redundant with Shved...

Opinions on him seem to be all over the board, mainly because no one has seen him play. Back in February DX said it's 50-50 he goes undrafted.

Ryen Rusillo just tweeted this:

Talked to a scout last night that said Ricky Ledo is the best overall shooter in the draft. Said he's going to crush guys in workouts.

You can never have enough guys who can shoot, create and pass. I think Ledo's ability to create for himself and others will translate very well in the NBA. I worry more that someone will fall in love in the late teens and take a flyer on him though. If they feel they could get him at 26 and grab one of the higher rated project bigs at 9 I would very much support it. I would prefer to move Ridnour and Barea and then have Shved take over the back up PG spot.

I don't remember where I heard it (KFAN?), but it sounded like Flip was thinking Shved would be better at PG.

Ledo's extremely interesting because he looks like he might be the only wing in the draft capable of both stretching the floor and sifting his way through traffic. The only caveat is that the only film of him doing so is against high schoolers, and he's one of those Shabazz/McLemore types that was always older and more physically mature than his competition (he's actually a couple months older than Shabazz).

Hopefully all that leads to him being available at #26. Ledo, Giannis, Karasev and Saric are the guys on my wish list with that pick.

Ledo just reminds me too much of a J. Crawford/J. Johnson type player. I love those types of players when they are under control. His skills transfer. You take away his jumper, then he drives and creates. You take away the lane, then he shoots over the top. His jumper is just so quick and effortless, then you top it off with a crazy handle for a shooting guard. From his highlights he doesn't look like a guy who is just making dribbling moves for the sake of moves, they actually get him to where he wants to be and into good shots.

I think they still probably plan to keep one of Ridnour or Barea around for another year (probably Rid because of his contract) then handing the spot to Shved.

Johnson was my initial comparison, but I like the Crawford comp as well.

Figured I would post these as well since some might not have seen much of him. Take them with a grain of salt, but it gives you a little taste of what he can do.

Or maybe he's Lenny Cooke.

Every player has bust potential in this draft. You could do much worse than Ledo at 26.

I don't really like his release point on his shot. He shoots it from in front of his face, which seems like it could be blockable in the NBA. He does look like he has good handles, though.

Its very similar to Durant's release. It would be a bigger problem if he had a slow release time, but he gets it off quick.

Durant is just a tad taller than Ledo, though.

The thing I like most about him is how he is able to create offense for himself. Right now, the only guy on our roster who can do that is JJ and maybe Alexey. Everyone has to have their shot set up for them in order to be effective. And in this class, its very similar from the SG spot. Most everyone else has to be set up to be most effective.

I'm just saying no one here can really develop much of an informed opinion of him because no one has seen him play. He's no different than Giannis in that way. IMO, it's a bit different than forming an opinion on the guys projected to go in the lottery because you can actually fine meaningful tape of those guys if you haven't had the opportunity to see them play. I'm basically not giving any credence to anything anyone has to say about Ledo on here.
