Like, I could see a second unit group of Dillingham, Alexander-Walker, Shannon and Reid playing with Towns at center. That has the makings of an electric unit!

This was the year for Miller to make the leap, but now I see Shannon Leap Frogging him for minutes.
I couldn't agree more. I really like Miller's future but I have no doubt that TSJ will be in our regular rotation this season while Leonard continues to mature his overall game.

They play different positions entirely

Playing free safety against a pretty good quarterback!

Maybe, but I see both of them taking minutes vacated by Kyle Anderson. I could see them both competing for SF minutes.

A couple interesting notes going back to his high school recruitment:
1. He was teammates at IMG Academy with two-way signee Jesse Edwards
2. Shannon was the 127th-rated recruit by 247Sports in the Class of 2019 rankings, ahead of Christian Braun (147th).

Wasn't it an incredible draft?

I'm aware. It doesn't change my opinion that TSJ is much farther along in his development to earn consistent rotational minutes.

I've seen nothing from Miller that indicates he's ready to play 10-15 meaningful minutes per game at any position.

I'm a big fan of Miller's potential and I hope he proves me wrong.

I'm betting on the come with Miller. I'm expecting him to be worthy of meaningful minutes. Just not as worthy as Shannon.

Shannon and Dillingham throwing a pitch at a Twins game. Not impressive. Shannon was wearing 00 and Dillingham was wearing 4.

I know it sounds like a broken record, but TSJ should absolutely model his game after Jimmy Butler. I dont like Butler as person, but as player he is a joy to watch. And TSJ reminds me a lot of young Jimmy:

- both are physical slashers who initially were considered as defensive minded players
- both are extremely quick and mobile
- both are 6'5 without shoes, with relative short wingspan, but strong body

First thing, that TSJ can learn from Jimmy is footwork. Jabs:

Spins, fakes:

Second thing is playing read-n-react, combine physicality, aggressiveness, craftiness and decision making. It allows to play with pace, balance things, dont force.

And finally, relentless, physical defense. Different from McDaniels and NAW.

P.S. I have heard many times from MIA fans that they want Edwards (haha) because he reminds them Butler. What about MIN drafting and developing young Jimmy to play with Edwards for many years in MIN?!

Not a terrible physical comp, not sure why I hadn't thought of it before. Shannon is actually a decent amount longer though.

Butler: 6' 6'' with 6' 7.5'' wingspan, 222.2 pounds
Shannon 6' 5.75'' with 6' 8.75'' wingspan, 219.4 pounds

So you are saying there is a chance???

I mean I dont know why but the first thing I thought when I saw TSJ highlights is that he should RUN more. But after thinking for а few days I think that it would be waste of his talent. He should run a lot in MIN, but I think his first skills is physicality plus quickness. Crafty bully ball. He has a lot of reps as ballhandler in Illinois. MIN should use it. But again just like Bulter does:

- keep it simple
- dont force
- play under control
- read defense

Yes, MIN were 29th in fastbreak point last year. But also it drove me crazy when all of the sudden our players stopped to attack the rim. Yes, we should shoot more 3s, but it is all connected: keep attacking the rim, keep earning FTs, keep bending defense so they rotate and open perimeter for open threes.

To grab the next Allen Iverson and Jimmy Butler in the same Draft would get a grade of at least a B- from ESPN. They don't have Bronny's upside, though.

Kelly Oubre is a pretty spot on comp for TSJ (or TJ, they called him that several times in the presser).

About 6'7, Lefty, slasher scorer. Decent defender and rebounder. Mediocre 3 point shooter, about 1:1 assist/Turnover ratio.
Little bit awkward jumper.

I would be pretty happy with that.

Like to see what NBA level training and diet can do for his body, there is room for growth there.

Also, I think the extra spacing in the NBA will help his slashing game, but the longer 3 point line I expect to be at least a bit of a struggle.

A pretty typical shortening of Terrence Jr....

I wonder whats Shannon current weight. He looks really big standing next to Dillingham.
