Anyways Stephen Jones, who holds high titles in the org chart, is 54. Whether the Cowboys would field a better team if he has the final word vs. Jerry we will probably never know until Jerry gives way or dies.

Stephen Jones might be a spoiled idiot for all we know. Or maybe you're right and that genius will just never get his day. Either way, the house that Jerry built is Jerry's to do with as he pleases. Nobody else built it.

The part I'm getting at is Jerry might have a different idea about how the team is doing than you do. Maybe Superbowls aren't necessary for him to think they had a good year. If his profits are still rolling in maybe he likes being more loyal to his staff than other teams are. I agree that Garret being his yes man might be everything. But the Cowboyz still aren't Cleveland. They could be a worse franchise. There are a few.

I have an idea.

Go make your own couple of billion dollars, all on your own, then come back and tell us how you run your nba team.

This is not the cowboys thread, nor the “bash old guys” thread.

Could be right, that all he cares is about the bottom line.

Despite the long drought, they seem to be making a lot of money though with the TV money, it’s hard to lose money on an NFL team.

Team might do better if owners are hands off, you know like when Jimmy Johnson was Hc or the way the Pats are run?

I appreciate your honesty papa Glen. I just want to get paid at the end of the season. I know this went bad for me and you.”

Thibs was in his office. Having survived this storm playing the situation perfectly for his needs. Not having listened to the media or any “hot take”.

Pretty much, although Thibs was not doing any trade discussions with any intent of actual doing a trade

I'm kinda thinking this also, I think he knows Butler will stay if Minnesota offers him the most money next year. I very well doubt he really thought Butler would go this far(and yeah, it's bad what Butler has done sitting out while having a contract he signed).

If Butler is moved, hopefully Minnesota gets a really good player for him, say Portland isn't doing well and finally decide that they need to change up the backcourt and offer a package built around McCollum for a package built around Butler. It would make Portland a very scary team then and give Minnesota a good outside shooting guard to team up with Towns and Wiggins. Not sure Taylor would want to let Butler stay in the division let alone in the same conference. I'm really surprise Charlotte didn't make an offer to team Walker up with Butler.

Charlotte has big money tied up in Batum, don’t they?

Yes maybe they could be run better. I can only imagine spending that much on a team annually and watching GM's and coaches mess things up and feeling like you had to step in to help keep them from throwing your investment away. It might be hard not to.

Lillard and Butler would be impressive in Portland. I would rather see that than Lillard going to Lakers in a trade like Simmons has said recently. But yes then he's going to be direct competition that would hurt.

Anyone who wants to moan and boo go ahead, as Jimmy scores the game winner. :P

KAT and Wiggs will embrace him still

Jimmys next game winner will be his first as a t-wolf. Jimmy was many things last year, but game winning shot maker was not one of them. I think he was 0-11 or something like that.

And I think Wiggs is already good with Butler.

Nice to hear that Wiggins is going public with wanting Jimmy on the team.

The positive thing from all this has been Wiggins' mentality

I don't know what you guys expect Towns and Wiggins to do in a spot like this other than go out and compete. They aren't going to suddenly turn into hall of famers just cause some guy who has been on the team for one year yelled at them.

Expect? Nothing much. Just play at 100% effort on both ends all the time until you pass out on the court if you must. Whatever it takes to prove all of us wrong about them and become the best players they can be and in doing so defend their own pride, and their team's pride better. So not expecting too much.

Am I correct that we should expect Butler after 15 Dec, when new signed players can be traded? Plus some teams might want a trade after slow start.

People say winning cures all. We are going to put that to the test this season. Unless of course we start losing, then all bets are off.

I have no faith in Thibs both as GM and HC. Otherwise yes, winnings cures all.

Thibs is just trolling the franchise right now. It's that bad. Glen needs to pull his head out of his ass.

Yeah, everything is fine when you listen that statements.

Going-ahead with this situation is just going to postpone the unavoidable fate, wich is Butler and Thibs going out.

The purifying of this franchise need to be done as soon as possible.

I am sure this has been asked before, but what is the earliest rookies can be traded?

As far I know, there's a waiting period immediately after they sign their contract but it's not very long. Wiggins signed his contract with Cleveland and was still traded before the season started.

The waiting period is 60 days after signing.

I dont think anything could happen that would make Butler happy here besides the team winning at a unrealistically high rate and or maybe them doing the crazy financial gymnastics to give him that super deal he wants. Best case is probably him upping his value so we can get a good trade which is a pretty good likelihood of happening IMO. The market will go up for him unless he looks like crap or gets hurt again which are also possibilities.
