Malcom Brogdon got a 2-year extension and is now ineligible to be traded this year taking him out of Ben Simmons trade speculation.

Is it a full calendar year or would Brogan be traded at some point later this season?
(Fattymcgee & Slim Tubby sounds like a great anchor for any Tug of War team!)

Six months, which would be after the trade deadline

Appears Simmons has chosen the Butler route...

I’ve come here to eat crow. I was completely wrong about the Simmons situation. I thought for sure he would have been traded before the start of the season. Obviously I was wrong and had the incorrect read on what I thought Morey would do in light of this declining value of Ben Simmons.

It’s not Butler until he takes Korkmaz, Reed, Niang, and a water boy and beats down Embiid and the starters while talking trash about Doc and Morey. Then goes on ESPN to do a sit-down 1-on-1 interview.
But I enjoy what he’s doing. This was so obviously going to be the result. No idea what the 76ers are doing. In the age of player empowerment, for better or worse, player demands trump contracts.

Damn, wonder what happened. Didn't expect him to come back to go to war with his teammates, thought it would be to just play or at least show up on food faith and try to get a trade to happen quicker, this will be an interesting turn of events if he starts going nuts.

Really?
The 76ers forced Simmons, who all offseason made it clear he wanted nothing to do with the organization, back and expected things to be all rainbows and sunshine?
Once Philly withheld his money, the gloves were removed.

Will Simmons be in our lineup for game one?

They could have Russell and McDaniels on the roster ahead of the Pelicans game, but now they are knee deep in dysfunction and I don't think Gupta will trade Russell at this point. That ship has sailed.

The only trade I see Gupta giving up at this point is Beasely, Beverley and Layman and like 3 FRPs for Simmons.
Anything more is not worth it.

Gupta doesn't have the job security to trade picks in 24 or 26. Lore/Arod/Taylor will need those picks to sell a potential replacement on taking the Minnesota job. I also don't think Finch wants to trade Beverley. I say Prince/Beasley/JMac/one first is the max.
The Sixers don't have roster space for three players. They would have to add players into the deal which would throw Minnesota deep into the tax. I think Minnesota is out.

F that.
Bev is untouchable and the amount of picks goes down now.
This team is cohesive. I’m not a Beas fan at all and even I’m reluctant to trade him at this juncture.

A washed 33 year old point guard who averaged 7/3/2 is untouchable for a perennial All-Star/DPOTY candidate in his prime?
lmao.
