You can laugh at my grammar if you want, while everyone else is laughing at your GM for his awesome drafting skills.

Drafting a top 5 draft pick, heading for Europe for two years.

I wonder if David Kahn is trying to be as horrible as McHale?

Enjoy another losing season folks :)

2010 Knicks probably grab AT least one of the star free agents. And Rubio will be playing in Europe

:) I can laugh at that.

That sort of under the table compensation gets teams stripped of 1st round picks for years to come. I'm fairly sure the Wolves would prefer to avoid going down that road again.

If he even comes over. He now gets 1 big contract and suddenly he could be making much more than any rookie contract. That is one of the reasons Fran V has never came over. This is just another ridiculous bad day if your Minny.

An interview with Rubio's father: http://www.marca.com/2009/07/02/balonce ... 38106.html

He says Ricky wants to play for Joventut, but it ramains to be seen if Joventut wants him on the team. He was also asked about the Real Madrid option and said nothing can be ruled out.

Dr.Krapinsky wrote:3. Rubio wants to find out if his contract is enforceable. The buyout is approximately 40 times (guesstimate -- I don't know the exact figures) his yearly salary, which in the U.S. would probably be found unconscionable and therefore unenforceable (who knows with Spanish law).

How much money do you need to pay to get out of a NBA contract? Is it possible at all?

No need for insults to our team...You seriously have no right with a team as bad as the Knicks. We're bad too but we didn't come onto your board making rash claims. Like Kahn has already said we are one of the few teams who can afford to wait for Rubio. Why, you ask?? Because we are a rebuilding team with a ton of assets that won't be viable anyways for a couple years. If you want to see exactly what I'm talking about read rev's post a few pages back. Oh, and who was Kahn supposed to draft?? If you say Curry you'd be wrong. Flynn is a better fit with Rubio than Curry is..

Yeah, we'll enjoy another losing season but Knicks will have one, too.
It is not like Rubio would make us winning many more games this season anyway so we can afford to wait...I like that a New York fan talks about bad GM's

Mark my words: Minnesota will win the series against the Knicks this season ;)

They are trying to spin this situation into a positive one. They really think someone of his talent and hype would want to be in minn. He probably understand what happened to KG.

No kidding. There's no irony quite like a fan of a team who hasn't had a winning record since 2001 saying 'enjoy another losing season folks'. Sure, we'll be losing, but you'll be right there with us. In the process, I hope you enjoy squandering a high lottery pick to the Utah Jazz while our young core develops.

There's no irony quite like a Knicks fan criticizing the GM of another team, a team that has its future invested in the acquisition of young pieces and talent, as opposed to the tentative signing of a top-tier free agent due to extreme incompetence from past General Managers (read: Isaiah Thomas) and lack of any palpable surrounding talent. I'm no McHale apologist, but his errors are a mere footnote compared to the fumbling catastrophe that was the Isaiah-era Knicks.

Or one of the only teams not to win a title with one of the best centers in league.

Thourgh 2000-2009 THE Knicks 298 wins 440 losses the Timberwolves 361 wins 377 losses if were a joke as a franchise what does that make them.

I've been attacked with personal insults because I hold a different view on the Rubio situation, particularly, on this thread. I hope you gave them the same message.

You've got more than 16.000 threads on your knicks board. Isn't there a single thread you can post in or why do you have to post here?
I don't mind if you make a "Minnesota is so bad they should give us the rights for rubio for a bag of donuts"-thread on your board but I'm sick of these NY-fans here.
If you need someone to make that thread on your board just tell me.

I will laugh when the Knicks overpay for a 2nd tier star and not land any of the big names because the big names actually want to go to a competitive team.

Actually I will laugh really hard when the wolves use their cap space to let a team make an offer for 2 1st tier free agents who sign together (Kaman and our 1st back from the clippers for cap space, letting the clippers get 2 max players), and the knicks don't get any of them because Minnesota gave other teams cap space to screw over the knicks.

And we will enjoy another losing season watching our young players develop and finishing better than the knicks (good luck with the lottery next year... oh wait)

lol minny fans. if you didn't draft flynn, rubio would probably be a wolf. i sort of feel bad for you guys... garnett for 10 years and can't win crap, just like us and ewing.

well whatever, you aren't getting anything too valuable anymore for him.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
