I assume there's more to that context. I'm 100% sure that KAT doesn't mean it as any shot at Rubio, he's too smart to just say that even if he had any ill will towards Ricky

- Local media dislike him as a player
- Management and coaches weren't "married" to him since the Adelman days
- Now a key player on the team is making a comment like that, man that's tough to hear if you are Rubio.

Rubio rumors come up every year. Flip wanted to replace him with Bledsoe, wanted to ship him for a lottery pick. Wolves wanted to trade him for Middleton. Hell, go back further and you get Rubio for Westbrook. Guy is still here, mostly because his value to the Wolves is much higher then he is to other teams because Wolves have no plan B

I'm sure if the Wolves draft Murray/Dunn that Rubio's days are likely numbered, but even then it will probably be 2 years before they actually trade him. The team is better with him at this point than it is without him. I'll be sad to see him go though, he was my favorite player on team before KAT came along.

Maybe he even sticks around if his shot/scoring finally matures.

Im sure ricky days are numbered too. He eventually will be a 40 year old player looking for his retirement.

How the things are being played, I think Dunn is taken before our pick. So I think we would have to search a backup in a thin free agent market.

I dont think Ricky is going anywhere anytime soon, and after Thibs and Greer watch his defensive chops forget about trade him.

If Thibs trades Rubio before he gives him a shot in his system, I'll be f*cking pissed.

For what its worth, Hollinger replied to this tweet calling it complete throwing crap on the wall to see if it sticks.

I'll be so disappointed if Rubio is traded before spending a year in Thib's system.

This. I think Rubio could be a borderline All-Star under Thibs.

A lot of you are probably really happy at the moment. Hopefully it's a win-win situation for both sides.

Feel really bad for Rubio. He has to feel like crap seeing all these rumors. Probably feels like Thibs has zero faith in him.

I just want Thibs to give Ricky time to win him over with his play in person.

I think he can win him over in practice.

Zero reason to move Rubio before this season. If he continues to improve you have at worst a solid trade chip.

If Dunn doesn't work out, we would feel like idiots to have given up on Rubio.

Hold on to Rubio this season, let him up his value (hopefully) then move him next year.

Rubio plus Pekovic for a PF, maybe to ATL for Millsap and Sefolosha. Not sure ATL would put him in front of Schroder though.

Rubio is gone before the start of the season.

Thibodeau did not pick his guy to play backup.

If Thibs doesn't want him then whatever Rubio is nothing special anyway, peace out and good luck on his new team.

I think Rubio has always loved this city and its fans. But it's time for a fresh start.

I thought Thibs doesn't like to play rookies?
