People think Glen is a straight up guy, according to some, the Joe Smith deal either,
Wasn't his fault
Not that big of deal
Or everybody does it anyway

No, many people here just like to complain about Taylor’s many missteps.

The Joe Smith thing won’t have any bearing whatsoever on how the arbiter or board decides the ownership case.

I don't believe I've heard Taylor called a snake before.

No team has ever lost five draft picks, I don’t believe.

“ NBA commissioner David Stern punished the Wolves by taking away their next five first-round draft picks and fining them $3.5 million, a league record.”

SNAKE.

I thought the Joe Smith fiasco was fairly minor just because everyone else was doing it! I'm not saying it was right but it still kills me that we did that for a mediocre player at best! Smith never lived up to the hype. It was the ultimate in bad decision making. So Wolves like back then.

I mean what other deal was a blatant as the joe Smith deal?

There wasn't. I didn't mean it that way. Everybody was doing it back then not that that makes it right. We couldn't even get a really good player from doing it.

Ok. So, posters here think this is all legitimate and has nothing to do with the fact Wolves franchise FMV is effectively twice what he sold to ARod and Lore? Also, that Taylor wouldn't have maybe gone back on Wolves handshake deal with Joe Smith once he realized Joe Smith was Joe Smith? I guess I'm insinuating maybe he's a snake, but I don't know.

Cool thanks. I was thinking on this board, but it may have occurred once or twice. Snake references are coming out of the woodwork since those who want A Rod and Lore to own the team have gotten upset. Out of curiosity why do you go by Guest81?

I think some posters are citing the Smith deal to illustrate to other posters that Taylor has been a huge snake in the past.

Weird guest and thinktank +1’d this. This didn’t happen, and they should know that. Maybe at this point, they’ll +1 anything negative, like “Taylor is a snake because he shot Abe Lincoln!”

Taylor didn’t go back on the Joe Smith deal. The opposite. He wrote the deal into a contract that was illegal. With an actual contract in hand, the NBA had to punish. That doesn’t make him a snake, that makes him (or more correctly, McHale) stupid.

This Joe Smith deal doesn’t make him a snake, but perhaps some other deal does.

As far as Taylor being a snake with Garnett, the story we’ve heard is closer to the Lore story. We have heard (mostly from KG) that Garnett and Taylor talked about KG wanting to buy part of the team in the past. However, KG wanted to buy it at a discount price, based on the market value before he came to the Wolves. He believed that he raised the team’s value (which he certainly did), so he was entitled to he previous valuation. However, every NBA team was rising in value at the time, so the rise certainly isn’t all KG.

We don’t know what the actual deal was, or if there was a deal at all and not just talk, but this is closer to the “Taylor’s a snake” narrative that some posters are trying so hard to present.

If you want to make the case that Taylor is a snake, better to start with the recent court battle with his original limited partners.

To over-simplify, Meyer Orbach claimed that if ARod and Lore were buying shares, they wanted it to be their shares first, and not Glen’s. Glen claimed that their contract said that this was only for the full sale of the team, not 20%, and then 40%, while he was still had controlling interest, the team wasn’t yet “sold.”

I don’t know if that makes him a snake, but I do know the court sided in Taylor’s favor, and dismissed the case with prejudice.

HINT: WE KNOW it didn’t happen.

The guy is just asking the question of what people are bringing up Smith for.

He still thinks Taylor is a snake, hence my And 1.

It’s all good. We will and one posters who, like us, believe Taylor is a snake.

We all know the Joe Smith deal was a snake move.

5 draft picks lost.

Did that happen?

Bravo?

You know Taylor didn’t go back on his deal with Joe Smith.

But for some reason, you And1’d it.

Either I over-estimated you and you didn’t know what happened in the Joe Smith deal, or you And1’d a post that you knew wasn’t true.

Either choice makes it a poor addition to the board.

I and one-d the post because the poster believes Taylor is a snake. I believe that poster was just checking as to if other posters thought Taylor reneged on the Smith deal. The answer is no. NO ONE HERE BELIEVES TAYLOR RENEGED ON THE SMITH DEAL. I just explained this to you but you chose to ignore it, or maybe you don't comprehend. You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink. Oh well. It is entirely your choice to be insufferable. That is the poor addition to the board. For the third time, NONE OF US--the poster who posted that, guest, nor me, believe Taylor reneged on the deal. Yes all three of us have a right, nay, a duty, to believe Taylor is a snake for making that deal that he honored. Do you get it? Do you understand simple ideas? Clearly you have difficulty. Or you're choosing to be difficult. Again, either way, A POOR ADDITION TO THE BOARD.

Taylor is a snake because he shot Lincoln.

Just testing if this is the type of post thinktank And1’s.
