Good.
The last thing we need is extremely high priced mediocrity that can't win in the playoffs.... :P

Real talk: If we make another leap.....and Ant makes a statistical leap.....do we talk about Ant in the 2024-25 Most Improved running?

Ant averaged 25.9 ppg last season...I feel like a jump to 30+ ppg could get him into the conversation. That's a massive improvement.

I’m trying to remember how I spent my 23rd birthday.

It definitely wasn’t representing the USA in the Olympics.

No, I don't think he would be in the MIP running. MVP maybe, but not MIP. I understand where you are coming from, but I don't see the media embracing that discussion. :)

Happy Birthday Ant. You will never see this, but I still wanted to get it out there.

So am I the only one who hasn’t liked everything they’ve seen from Ant at the Olympics?

He seems to be playing “All Star game” defense on his man, and has gotten blown past several times. He seems to gamble for steals sometimes. Even Devin Booker looks to be playing harder on D. And while all the other vet players on Team USA seem to be sharing the ball very well, Ant seems to be eager to take shots himself.

Now, I admit, I am not concerned, and it looks like his teammates seem to have no problem with it either. He leads Team USA in scoring (67 pts) on good percentages (15/20 2P, 10/20 3P), but 7 assists in 4 games is lower than anyone who’s played every game.

Is this just his role? Or is he playing selfishly? Maybe both?

I think ANT's defense has been exceptional.

He lets players blow past him, and never fights through screens. Windhorst blasted him for it, and it’s frustrating to see freakin’ Devin Booker put in a more consistent defensive effort. He only plays hard one-on-one defense only after he misses a bucket or gets embarrassed defensively, and often he’s just gambling on a steal. His effort level only pops in occasionally, which is something I wrote off during the long nba season. He’s surrounded by older vets who are working hard consistently.

I expect another monumental leap from Edwards this year. He is entering his Prime as a Superstar 2-way guard. He is coming off back-to-back off-seasons with immense talent around him on a day-to-day basis [World Cup and Olympics].

Wade, CP3, LeBron and Kobe all had 2 of their very best seasons in their careers in 2009, the year after the Olympics in 2008.

Durant took a step-up in 2013 following the 2012 Olympics.

While ANT has always been a gym rat, being around someone like LeBron James for 1.5 months is going to show just how much work-ethic it takes to be the best player in the league for the better part of 2 decades.

I am hopeful his mental off days will be a lot more limited going forward, seeing what the other guys do on a daily basis.

Or in LeBron fashion he'll go join a super team and try to win with them, get the GM to burn all of the franchises resources, blame everyone but himself for losing, and then move on to another one.

Probably not though, cause Ants not a bitch. But yes I think seeing all of those stars could result in improved play from him which would be awesome.
