I'm not sure I've seen McDaniels do anything but straight-line drives. If he has, feel free to prove me wrong.

Stauskas has, however. His handles are much more advanced than you might think.

I used to think the same too, but last season soured my opinion of him. It will be interesting to see how Martin produces outside of Adelman's offense. He had way too much freedom last season.

I want a complete player, but we won't get that at 13. If we do, his overall talent level won't be as high as guys who have one elite skill.

At their worst, McDaniels and Stauskas can step in as role players, but still have high potential because they are elite in their respective niches. If we were to draft a more "complete" player like Harris or Hairston, I don't think they'll have the upside.

Wolves considering trading up? No way Smart is there at 13.

This is interesting, considering today's news. Smart is currently projected to go 5th to Boston.

Covering all bases in case there's a trade made?

We also interviewed Aaron Gordon and Julius Randle.

I don't know about Vonleh. Seeing his DX scouting report always makes me worried, because he just doesn't look like a basketball player out there. He has fantastic physical tools and can do a lot of everything, but I don't think he'll be able to put it all together on both sides of the court and will struggle with tougher NBA opposition.

Gordon is more raw in terms of skills though, but he knows how to play on defense at least and has an outstanding ability being able to guard several positions effectively. Randle might struggle with tougher opposition as well, but he's just relentless and looks like he can't stand to lose. I also think he'll open up a better perimeter game once he gets his feet wet in the NBA.

Marcus Smart is just not a good fit for us. Can't see him alongside Rubio because of the lack of shooting, so I wouldn't want to waste a top 6 pick on him.

Gary Harris Vs Nik Stauskas

Harris played some nice D all game. He is really strong for a guard so it lets him body up on guys.

Most NBA shooting guards will just shoot right over him.

No denying that.

Flip emphasized getting a SG with size last offseason...So that could influence his decision.

Good point. He didn't like McCollum last year because of his size and Harris is about the same size as him.

Vonleh did say so in his interview with the media. I think it's safe to say that trading Love for the Celtics pick is a genuine possibility, meaning that we have a theoretical chance of getting every player in the lottery whether it's the top 4 prospects by getting lucky in the lottery, trading for the 5/6th pick to get one of the 4 next guys, or our own pick at 14, where the rest of the players might fall down to.

When are we doing the yearly rookie rankings on this board?

I'm not a fan. He's a ball-dominant PG who shot 29.9% from the college three. He's just past the threshold where he's big enough for the 2-guard spot, but he's still undersized. Overall, he's just a bad fit with Rubio. The only way we're getting #5 is by trading Love, in which case I'd want one of the PFs there (Randle, Vonley, or maybe Gordon(could be developed at SF)) even if we can get Sullinger or Olynik.

If he doesn't have the ball in his hands creating for others, then he's not doing anything. He might as well be traded at that point.

Edit: And for that matter, the same is true for Smart, which is why he's a bad fit.

So you're alright turning one of the best young ball-handlers and passers in the league into a 3-and-D guy?

Why waste his talents with that?

Edit:

And really, that's what was done to Rubio this last year with Martin, and most of us hated it.
