I keep getting the Hersey Hawkins vibe when I watch Buddy play.
Among the guards, I don't think he's the best player. but I do think he's the best fit.

He's the ultimate boom or bust guy.
Their big board looks different than their mock draft now. I think they have reached the point in the year where the mock becomes about projecting what teams will do, not just ranking the players.

I don't think Boston will take Chriss unless they are trading the pick, but I could maybe see The Suns taking him.

When I have to talk myself into a player it usually doesn't end up going well. I find myself doing that with Chriss and Ellenson. I'll put my trust in Thibs though.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
If Lavine is your long term 2 does it make sense to take buddy who plays the same position as him? I dont think either would be really good at the three and their handles/passing/vision together is too weak for the 1. There any high ceiling forwards out there?
I came here to do two things: get lost and slice **** up & I'm all out of directions.

Anyone else get a Gary Harris vibe from either of the SGs?

Gary Harris has unreal agility, speed and built plus he plays defense like a bulldog, Murray is slowfooted and cant defend elite athletes, Hield doesnt even try, so no, not really.
If you are talking about the whole G crop, the most similar to Harris would be Baldwin, Payton, Baker, and especially Julian Jacobs.
Rasheed Sulaimon is another superquick guy that can defend make passes and shoot the 3, but his built is different than Gary's, longer but less packed.

Fisch, what is your opinion about bigmen of this draft 2016? Jakob Poeltl, Chriss etc.

This is a really solid class of bigmen, I'd say thought that giving the fact of how stacked this class is, how easy is to get an avg big either in FA or the trade pool, and how many teams want to trade big for small these days, I'd not touch many on the top15, in my opinion only Bender, Chriss, qualify as lotto picks per value, because of their upside.
I like Poeltl to be a good pro, but not in the lotto, I guess if I do need a big I could make a gamble in late-lotto territory, but I dont really see any of those teams going that route above other prospects.
If you quantify any guy that can play PF/C as a big, I have about 15-20 with 1st round grades, that doesnt mean that I would take them that high, I will likely wait to the 2nd half of the 1st to start targetting bigs and spend higher picks on two-way wings or Guards that hold much more value right now.
In terms of who I like the most, outside of Chriss and Bender who deserve top consideration;
Ivica Zubac
Domantas Sabonis
Robert Carter Jr.
Stephen Zimmerman
Chinanu Onuaku
Henry Ellenson
Jakob Poeltl
AJ Hammons
Deyonta Davis
Ante Zizic
Brice Johnson
Pascal Siakam
Guerschon Yabusele
Petr Cornelie
Damian Jones
I think all those guys deserve 1st round consideration talentwise, but like I said, this class is insanely deep in terms of bigs, and you dont want to overdraft somebody if you can have a similar talent that can play at the wing.

Re: 2016 draft thread: Part 2
Can those that want us to draft Buddy give us a breakdown in minutes for this year and maybe 3 years down the road? I'm genuinely curious about how it would work and look. I'm struggling to see how he plays enough with Zach at the 2 and Wiggy being capable there as well. The bottom line is it would appear that he is going to have to play quite a lot of small forward where I'm not sure he can defend consistently or Zach is going to play quite a chunk of point guard minutes which would be a shame after he has looked so promising at the 2. Either way you move the guy from their natural position. Just as an example if you draft a guy like Luwawu you feel better about their ability to play either position regardless of opposition and makes Bazz more expendable or opens up that possibility. Again, I really like the guy but don't know how it works with him.

I think more people would be into Luwawu if he were projected to go higher, but I think people are focused on the Hield, Dunn, Murray because those 3 seem to be the consensus top prospects where we pick.
So if you're only focused on those 3, then Hield has some advantages. Shooting over Dunn and size over Murray (and possible the same position issues with Murray).

Seems criminal that a guy that big and fluid/mobile at age 18 would be mocked at #50 by draftexpress. This guy is massive and looks pretty skilled and very mobile.
