Portland just waived Skylar Mays and Ish Wainwright. I remember Skylar having a pretty big game against us last season, and I seem to recall a few folks wanting him here.

I think Mays is a little bit interesting, but I don't see a great fit with the Wolves. First, I'd guess he would be behind Nix on the depth chart, meaning his chances of playing would be close to zero. Second, Mays is already 26, so there isn't much unrealized upside left.

Based on seeing Mays play I would have him way above Nix.

I was going to jump on here to suggest Mays but you guys beat me to it!

I would drop Nix in a second if Mays would take a 2-way.
I know that staying out of the tax is an issue for filling that 15th spot, but if money wasn't an issue or we could find a sucker to take Moore's contract Mays would be a guy I would target to sign.

He's shown he can be a decent bench player and run a team and rack up some assists and that's plenty good when you are filling the 14th-15th roster spots. I could care less about unrealized upside. We have enough of that getting DNP-CD's already.

My question is whether Mays will be better than Milton in Milton's role in MIN. Mays definitely fits definition of a big guard, but he does not shoot the ball very well...

Josh Christopher. Intriguing prospect just waived by Utah. Utah failed with NAW, maybe they failed with Christopher as well.

Kyle Lowry just got traded, and is a likely buy out candidate with playoff experience.

His body can’t hold up for lots of minutes, but he’s possible pick up for injury insurance.

Jake Fischer is saying that Kyle Lowry isn’t going report, and will likely be a buy out candidate. The likely landing spot is PHI, his hometown, but the Sixers have a full roster, and don’t have a guy they’d like to cut. When he looked around for other landing spots, the one he mentioned was MIN. I believe Lowry knows Finch from TOR?

Finch was on Nurse's staff the final half season Kyle played for the Raptors.

Any chance we could land both Lowry AND Hayward if both by outs happened?

Depends on the trades we make. As it stands now, trade WMJ for space the answer is YES.

Considering this more thoroughly, my guess is that the Sixers do some type of consolidation trade that creates that roster spot.

Huh?

Philly needs to duck the tax. 2nd(s) + cash to clear space should be enough to get them under the tax and add Lowry.

I like Hayward a lot more than Lowry. Hayward has a lot more positional size in the post-season.

With free agency becoming less and less valuable, I think Morey will spend some of their Harden assets to do a consolidation trade for a cheaper guy, rather than save their cap space for 2024 Free Agency. With Siakim and Anunoby gone, I think they’ll spend some assets now to duck the tax, create a slot AND improve their team for the 2024 playoffs.
