Bounced back, I'm happy KAT is finally seeming to fit in.

Re: **The Official Karl-Anthony Towns Thread: Part Two**
Just want to give a shout out to KAT for his great play the last couple weeks.
He's been playing great D all year, starting to be really efficient and decisive as a scorer and passer offensively and absolutely carried this team to a 4-1 road trip.
Really showing an effort to improve and work on things, it's like he's reading all the suggestions we have for him here, he mentioned composure twice in his post game interview.
If we get this version of KAT the rest of the season, the sky is the limit for this team.
We have been better at getting him the ball in the middle of the floor and letting him go to work, schematically this has really helped, it's hard for teams to trap him versus being able to use the sideline/endline as a 3rd defender, and it allows him to see the whole floor and gives him a shorter skip pass to either slot or corner.

9 assists is a big number while doing the other things he did.

The accuracy of the passing and quality of the decision making are probably the two most impressive things to me.

KAT is good, as soon as he put his head in the game and stop complaining with the Refs as he do some games. For me he is still one step ahead of Ant if he can maintain this. He is the main reason why we are 4-1 on the road.

Agreed, it feels like he’s been complaining less frequently for the last few weeks than ever before. His game elevated since the change of attitude.

Yet people really want to trade him. I don't get it, who is capable enough to replace him at a lower price point?

The answer to your question is this guy named Nobody. Nobody is awesome and better than KAT. Nobody would make our team so much better.

Does make me wonder who is Batman and who is Robin? Maybe I should stick with the avengers. Who is the strongest doesn't really matter. Just win baby

It's easy to forget because it's been so long, but this is what he was supposed to be. He was supposed to be a two-way threat coming out of the draft. I remember thinking his floor was going to be Al Horford, as kind of that do-everything big man. I think we're finally starting to see a little bit of that defensive potential realized.

It’s clear that, kind of like Horford, KAT’s a much better perimeter type PF defender as opposed to a rim protecting center.

Right. Towns was the defensive beast with untapped offensive potential. While Okafor was the polished offensive big.
And then Towns went out and showed he was the better offensive player than Okafor by a mile from Day 1.

I just realized. The two times we had the number 1 pick. We chose correctly, I don't know what to do if we got stuck with Okafor and Wiseman

Was the choice between Ant and Wiseman? I always thought people here were between Ant and Ball?

Yes, which was always kind of counter-intuitive. I think his previous coaches put him in drop coverage because they thought he was a bad defender, not that he was a bad defender because they put him in drop coverage.
This makes me think of Jokic. When Jokic started in the NBA, he was horrible defensively, and he’s far less athletic than KAT. After a few years, they finally asked him what kind of defense he wanted to play, and he said out from under the basket, and has been better. Same goes for Towns. In fact, a lot about being a good defender is “want to.” Towns wants to show people he can defend out there, and that fits his personality better than drop, where he always wanted to come up and challenge, and often break the team defense.

I remember it being a three way choice, and all three had posters from our board that supported each one.
And supposedly Flip really liked Okafor early, but his staff (and a strong workout by Towns) convinced him to go with KAT.
Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
