Joan Beringer is rising... IMO one of Kalkbrenner, Reynaud or Niederhauser will be available at 31.

Any love out there for Adou Thiero? Reminds me of Anunoby a bit. I think the shooting will come with him, and he’s got to be one of the top impact defenders in the draft. I’ve become a big fan.

Any thoughts on Beringer? People that like him seem to REALLY like him. Apparently he has great skills for his size? I'll need to check out some clips

I would take him at 17, depending on whatever other moves they have planned. Him learning behind fellow Frenchman Gobert could be great.

I just don't like this draft.. I don't see many becoming anything else than bench players in the future and I don't like spending first rounders for bench..
Trade out for next year, keep pick 31 for bench.

It's drafts like this you find starters in the 15-25 range though

My favorite picks for 17: Beringer; Sorber; Coward; maybe Demin if told me he can shoot, which he never has; and if we trade Dillingham, Traore.

Favorite at 31: Gonzalez; Saraf; Kalkbrenner; Thiero; Powell; maybe Yang.

My guess is if we keep both picks, we go big with 17. I doubt both are there at 17, but if they are, no idea which one Connelly would prefer. Then guard/wing at 31.

This is not an overly popular take on here...and I agree with you completely. I personally find this Draft extremely devoid of top end talent, especially from the collegiate ranks.

This team needs guys that contribute now and I'm going with proven, productive prospects over "promise" if we keep the picks.

31. C/PF Johni Broome

My dream scenario is Demin and Coward with 17 and 31. The likelihood of both being there at those picks are slim, but those are two high upside(high risk too) type picks.

Here's a shocker: I can probably be talked into most any prospect in this class, it might just take me more time on some prospects compared to others.

I wonder if the Kevin Durant pursuit could make Connelly more aggressive about a trade up in the draft.

The current unknown of Durant makes me think they'll want to ensure adding another big impact potential player through moving up into the lottery, as opposed to waiting to see what falls. Not necessarily as a trade asset, but as a way to replenish what could be lost this summer either via trade or free agency.

This isn’t the type of draft where you move up though. I actually like some of the prospects that might be available at 17 more than most of the supposed top 8 besides Flagg. At 31 it looks like slim pickings though unless someone really drops, hopefully Clayton Jr. or Beringer , maybe Wolf

I just don't understand how people think every draft has to be a home run. My goodness, depending on the other moves we make, this is the key statement here, finding two players that can come in and be part of the rotation is a huge win. They don't have to be all stars or even starters. A player able to walk in and provide 15 to 20 minutes backing up Rudy Gobert at a high level. That would be a huge win. We won't likely find a starting PG in this draft, but two quality bigs - a PF and C - would be a win.

If we are selecting for PHX for a KD trade in July, who do you think they would want?

Would that guy still work in MIN, if the trade fell through?

I actually disagree with this take. We’ll see what happens with our free agents/trades, but it’s going to be very difficult for anyone drafted at 17/31 to get regular minutes. I think we need to think longterm. Take upside swings that will be able to take over for Gobert, Randle, etc, when Ant is actually in his prime 2-3 years down the line. That’s why I’m perfectly okay with someone like Beringer.

It is if there is a clear tier break though, where you would miss out on that prospect without trading up.

Unless a deal is agreed to by all parties before draft night, the only factor that should go into Wolves draft decisions is what player makes the most sense with the current and future Minnesota team.

I would largely agree with this. Luckily though as far as the negotiations are concerned, Minnesota and Phoenix actually have relatively similar roster needs.

The Bane trade makes Walter Clayton Jr the most obvious choice. High end shooting is extremely valuable in today’s NBA. His ability to do so from a degree of difficulty factor makes his shot even more impressive than some others with higher percentages.

Great shooter, decent defender, and ready to contribute day 1.

If we move off Naw and DDV for whatever reasons, he’s the guy who, along with tsj and Clark, resets our youth without giving up shooting or defense.
