Re: OT Thread, Part III
I think Vegas and Kansas City make the most sense for the Seattle companion team. Organize the new divisions like this:
Minnesota
Milwaukee
Chicago
Indiana
Detroit
Cleveland
Toronto
Washington
Seattle
Portland
Sacramento
San Francisco
Lakers
Clippers
Phoenix
Las Vegas
OKC
Dallas
Utah
Denver

Sacramento
San Francisco
Lakers
Clippers
Phoenix
Las Vegas
OKC
Dallas
Utah
Denver

Interesting point, even if you didn't mean to make it.
By upping to 16 teams, it'd probably mean a move from 5-team divisions to 4-team divisions. That would also change the landscape, because one of New Orleans and Memphis would be left out of the Southwest (they won't break up the Texas teams).
Depending on where the expansion teams are, I could actually see us staying in the West. I'd have to work on some maps though to get a good feel for what might work best, though.

Re: OT Thread, Part III
Here are the divisions I came up with:
West
SEA, SAC, SF, POR
LAL, LAC, PHO, UTAH*
DAL, SA, HOU, NO
MEM, KC*, OKC, DEN
East
MIA, ORL, ATL, CHA
WAS, TOR, CLE, DET
BOS, NY, BRK, PHI
CHI, IND, MIL, MIN
*if Las Vegas instead of Kansas City, put LV with the LA teams and Utah with OKC and Denver.
Still not a perfect structure, but to me it's much more geographically balanced.

*separate division for all the fancy pants cities: Miami, NY, Texas and LA. Now their free agency benefits are equitably nullified by having to fly all over the damn country to play each other.

Yes, to a team in Vegas btw! I'll still be a Wolves fan, but I'll get to see them in person again without going back to MN (or PHX/LA).

I need some help from our international friends!!! Trevor Mbakwe, former Gopher, just signed a 3 year deal with Maccabi Tel-Aviv. Do they make salaries overseas public? I was trying to figure out how much the contract was worth, but none of the news sites had that info. It sounds like the Russian team Khimki also wanted him but Mbakwe chose Macabbi. How much could a player like Mbakwe get with a team like Maccabi?

They usually don't make salaries public.

Downtown on the Green Line for the first time in a couple months. The Vikings stadium is one odd looking building.

Just realised, that I'll miss the entire first week of the season because of work.

nobody has pity on me (which breaks my heart) but I found out, that I probably won't miss the first week of the season.

i know this is old, but i literally just laughed out loud when i read this again
I got inside sources in the Nets organization, and the word is Jason Kidd will get fired because he asked for a raise. Kidd also wanted the GM position, but the Russians told him no. Kidd will be the next coach of the Milwaukee Bucks, and possibly the GM too.

What's the deal with renewing ballstreams? It will let me log in but none of the pages work. It says my account is active, non-premium but I have an email from them from May when they auto-renewed my premium account through Nov. I can't open any account page or contact info.

Re: OT Thread, Part III
Ever since KG returned and Andre Miller was signed I've been thinking of going to the States next year since it could very well be the last year of both players. My biggest problem right now is budgeting my money (spent wayyyyyyy too much this summer in Australia but it was totally worth it). Flights aren't too expensive from what a quick research has shown. Now, what's the average price for accommodation in the Twin Cities? Am I looking at ~$100 per night? How much would a normal meal with, let's say 2-3 beverages run me?
Thanks for any help, guys!

I'm not an expert on Twin Cities pricing these days but I would guess an average hotel room would be around $100. You could probably find cheaper fairly easily. Airbnb might be a good option, too. Don't know what meals cost in the TC these days, probably around $30 with a couple drinks? Guess it depends on where you eat.
