Holmes is another guy that fits the mold of a defensive, rim running C. If the Kings don't want to pay him that much, maybe we can get involved? Incentive for the Kings would be us taking on Hield's contract while routing Malik to a 3rd team, Kings get some assets back instead of losing Holmes for nothing and free up money by unloading a disgruntled Hield (and possibly Bagley as well). Gets us the big we want next to KAT, take on an, in essence, older, more expensive version of Beasley, but get to keep more assets because of those facts

So we take on Hield and Holmes? That's $44 million between the two of them and Beasley makes $14 million. Which contracts are we sending out to make up the difference? Doesn't seem feasible.

Edit: I suppose Prince, Juancho, and Culver could be included but at that point we'd have to start attaching 1sts to unload those contracts.

We need to take a hard look at nerlens Noel. He can be 5 on defense and 4 on offense. Won't cost a fortune to get. One of the best defensive and shot blocking bigs in the game.

Does it still work if Holmes gets the $20 million per year he's asking for?

MIN in: Myles Turner, Josh Hart (via S&T)
MIN out: Malik Beasley, Jarrett Culver, Leandro Bolmaro, 2022 2nd round pick (MIN), 2022 2nd round pick (WSH)

IND in: Jarrett Culver, Leandro Bolmaro, Wenyen Gabriel, 2022 1st round pick (NOP, top 10 protected), 2022 2nd round pick (MIN), 2022 2nd round pick (WSH)
IND out: Myles Turner

NOP in: Malik Beasley
NOP out: Wenyen Gariel, 2022 1st round pick (top 10 protected)

MIN - It's clear that Turner is someone we're interested in and slots in at the 5 as a rim protector who can stretch the floor, sliding KAT over to the 4. Hart replaces Malik. Less offensive punch, but a solid defender/rebounder and will come a bit cheaper. We give up Bolmaro, but preserve future 1sts. By acquiring Hart in a S&T instead of throwing an offer sheet at him, I believe we can still use our MLE based on the cap figures?

IND - Save a lot of money and pick up some prospects and picks. Shift to Sabonis full time at C?

NOP - Get a sniper to space the floor for Zion and Ingram and whichever PG they end up with

DLO/Nowell/JMac or Mckinley
Ant/Hart/Okogie
Jaden/Prince/Layman
KAT/Vando/Juancho
Turner/Naz

Pass.

Holmes is looking for a 4/80, so the average would be 20 a year, but he would start closer to 16-17 I think based on standard % increase contract if my math is correct:

1st year: 17
2nd year: 19
3rd year: 21
4th year: 23

Something like that. The math should work out, maybe send in more minor salary filler like Layman if needed

Still probably the best option for total cost.

wouldn't mind signing him..though might have to trade Culver or Hernangomez without taking back salary to free up more cap space.

It’s decent for us as far as cost. I’d prefer keep Bolmoro and no Hart (just give Nowell run) but that probably tips value too much to us.

Holmes is too short, no thanks. Turner is perfect so we won't get him. Noel is a nice bench piece, but not really a needle mover and misses more time than DLo or Kat
