Which Teams Would Trade the #2?

Post#1 » by shrink » Thu Apr 8, 2010 4:27 pm

Suppose we get the #3 pick. Which teams would consider trading down for #3 + assets?

Current Standings
1. NJN (11-67)
2. MIN (15-63)
3-5. GSW (24-54)
3-5. WAS (24-54)
3-5. SAC (24-54)
6. DET (25-53)
7. PHI (26-52)
8. LAC (27-51)
9. UTA (NYK 28-50)
10. IND (30-48)
11. NOH (35-44)
12. MIL (CHI 37-40)
13. MEM (39-39)
14. HOU (40-38)

Probably just GSW and SAC, but even that's VERY slim. Sac's probably the most likely, but that doesn't mean they would.

It's hard to say, but I'm of the belief that there are teams that would take Favors or Cousins at #2.

Definitely agreed. There's been a couple reports of Cousins having a very slim chance of going #1, so it's definitely possible him or Favors go #2. RealGM has Cousins as their #2 prospect.

GSW would probably prefer to just take Favors at #2. They'd be in heaven if the Wolves offered up ANYTHING to move from 3 to 2. They get their guy, plus a little extra. Warriors have talked about Randolph becoming a full time center. Call it crazy, but that's them speaking. Nellie's a loon, though. Make Randolph and Favors their front court, and I think they have something there, at least in their system. With Ellis, Curry, and whichever of their D-League all-stars that are breaking out this week; their backcourt might be solidified already.

Depending on how the lottery goes, I just don't think you bother making the phone call until after the #2 pick is made, so you know if Turner is there or not.

The Cousins at #2 talk is heating up. That can only be a good thing for the Wolves. Unless the Wolves get the #2 pick and Kahn falls for the hype.

#2 for #3+ actually isn't that hard to imagine. If I'm Sacramento and I could get #3 and Paul George for #2 I think I would.

Well, SAC sure doesn't need another SF, but I agree with your main point.

OJ Mayo is one of the best defenders in the league, hes a two way player and hes a great passer and playmaker.

I'd be fine with Favors at 3. Trade Love for Johnson.

Rubio/Flynn/Sessions
Fernandez/Brewer/Ellington
Johnson/#16
Jefferson/Favors
Milicic/Favors

Good call. DX has Whiteside dropping there but I rather doubt it. Maybe Alabi?
