... Says he's gonna work his butt off this summer to prove to the organization what he can do. Says it's not about starting but about having a clearly-defined role.
I like the working his butt off part.
My take on Kevin's recent struggles is that he feels a sort of entitlement, he's used to always being one of the best players on the court, and now he's frustrated that something isn't going his way. I think Rambis is handling the situation well, perhaps trying to teach Kevin that nothing is handed to anybody in this league, and you have to keep working hard no matter what your pedigree.
Obviously, one of the biggest choices facing this team is the Love Vs Jefferson decision. None of us know which one will be gone, and I have to admit I am a total flip-flopper on the subject, I can't even decide which one to trade on my fantasy future team on NBA 2K10....
But one way or the other, Kevin needs to learn to keep working hard, no matter what...

This brings up an important question:
Do we have Rubio on any of the NBA video games? 2k or Live?
I think I might buy one next year, and it'll be my first video game purchase in like 6 years. I might need to buy a PS3, since my PS2 is falling apart. I'm just more inclined if Rubio is an option.

I play live and Rubio is on the Spain team, he's amazing on there btw.

Haha, the day NBA2K10 came out I went to Target and bought an XBox 360 and 2K10. It is the only game I own, and the only game I care about.
I created Rubio and improved Brewer and traded for Darko and improved Darko and created Turner and improved Ellington and am currently rolling with this extra-realistic rotation:
Rubio/Flynn
Brewer/Fernandez/Ellington
Turner/Outlaw
Al/Love
Darko/Love
But I have gone back and forth trading Al or Love, then trading back for them, etc, it's driving me crazy and screwing with my team chemistry big time....

So what you're saying is that Love wants a clearer definition of his role in NBA2k10 as well?

Exactly. It's a cruel, cruel world.
Rubio is amazing though, averaging 11 points, 13 assists, 3 steals, and tenacious D, and the team is rolling....

There's apparently a NBA 2k10 Euroleague mod that you can download.

I don't blame him. Problem is, Kahn/Rambis haven't figured that out yet. Hopefully we'll know after the draft.

Exactly Dr. K, a the team moves from "collecting assets and flexibility" and moving to "developing a team" then roles will be understood. I am disappointed with love after this year and I would be unsure whether or not he is in my plans as a starter.
Pre-season it was reported that his conditioning and defensive rotations have dramatically improved. He was becoming a very good rotational defender. We never saw that materialize in the season. If he could be a quality defender, quality high post offensive option and then add that to his rebounding he can be a starter. Otherwise he is Danny Fortson.

For Love to really excel I think he needs to be in a system where he can be the full time center. Golden State seems like the most logical choice. I think the Golden State pick (4-7?) for Love makes a lot of sense for both teams and Love (Golden State is half way between UCLA and his hometown and he'll fit perfectly next to Randolph or Wright at PF).

For some weeks I have been thinking that GS should be our trading partner. Im not sure what we want in return, besides their 1st rnd pick.

Kevin, your role is to defend NBA power forwards. Now go work your butt off.

Kevin, a roll is a form of bread usually served for dinner with lots of butter. You are to keep your chubby unconditioned butt away from such foods.
Alas, why does he have to verbally announce every semi-thought/idea during interviews? If he'd only hesitate a split second longer, he might not sound like such a whiner all the time.
I do like the GS ideas though. I'd take their pick or even Monta (He and Al could have some Mississippi Chemestry, and he'd be a capable defender if he has a coach who cared about such things.) Maybe something like Gome+Love+CHA pick/Pek for Monta/GS Pick+Wright/Randolph? I think I'd do something like that.

Love at center? And I don't see it as a negative that he feels this way. He just wants a role so he knows what he is going to be in for. And yea, in my NBA 2K Love is PISSED at me. Gomes already demanded a trade and Love is about to do the same. I can't make him happy either unless I bench Al or my Rook 7'4" center. He's just going to have to live with it because I got his ass locked up in a big deal.

Except for Jonny Flynn who was handed the starting PG role from day one and has yet to earn it.

I think the team is hesitant to call him a 6th man at this point because it doesn't know what it wants to do with Jefferson (and Love, I guess). But it should be clear to everyone he's best suited to being the 3rd big in that rotation. So just tell him you want him to be the leader of the 2nd unit and that he's still going to get plenty of playing time (assuming no pouting) and be done with it.
