Talking with Miami?

Q: How about trading Beasley to Minnesota for the rights to Ricky Rubio? — Jeff.
A: I am told by a well-placed connection that Timberwolves General Manager David Kahn talks to Pat Riley on a regular basis. But I can’t see Minnesota biting on that one. I think the ‘Wolves could get more, including a quality point guard in return.

Lol.
All I've to say is: "Your in Minnesota? Tell me how cold it is..."
I don't want Beasley here

I'm not putting any weight on this. The article really doesn't say anything other than Kahn talking to Riley. 4th quarter collapse Beasley would do nothing for me.

I'd be cool with getting Beasley, but not for Rubio. IMO he's limited playing with Wade and has some strange expectations and demands put on him, mostly on defence, and is kind of underrated because of it. But he's certainly not the can't miss prospect he was before the draft anymore.

unless Wade is somehow involved, i really don't see anything of value in Miami that we could possibly want. This is an easy pass on a trade, reading way too much into an article.

Forget Beasley man.

Beasley's only 20, and he's already been arrested, goes to AA, got in trouble at the NBA rookie camp, and fathered a child. Imagine where this train wreck will be at 25!
MIA could use Jefferson, Love, or a little more cap space, but I see nothing on the Heat that would appeal to MIN in trade.

Beasley does fit Rambis's desire for a James Worthy type SF, though. You know in his Snowtime offense.

I'd do it and force him to play SF. He has iso scoring talent and is (in theory) a good shooter, we need what he provides.

throw in a sack of game used YMCA over 40 league basketballs also, thats about as much as we should be willing to give up for a guy with a pretty good deal of character issues and question marks.

I don't feel safe with Kahn talkin' to Pat Riley on a regular basis.

I agree with shangrila that Beasley is not in an ideal situation. Miami's system values the contributions of a player like Haslem more than Beasley.
However,
if he can be a FT SF (and I question a bit if his footspeed is adequate) those per 36 numbers cpfsf posted are very, very interesting. Two years younger than Gay and still on his rookie deal...
But that's the whole thing. Pat Riley has a tie or two to the Showtime Lakers as well, as I recall. The fact that Beasley's not playing the 3 for the Heat probably means he couldn't do it for us either. Pass on this deal.
