Hawks could sell #24

Sources say that this is the reason Atlanta is willing to sell its first-round pick for $3 million this summer, and the reason that they’ll likely offer no more than a three-year contract for $1.8 to $2 million a year to a possible Woodson successor. Woodson could expect a bigger offer to stay on the job, but perhaps not by much. For Woodson, the 76ers could offer leverage to leave, but he would have to weigh leaving a legitimate Eastern Conference contender for a flawed roster in Philadelphia.

Here's one proposal

Atlanta Out: #24
Atlanta In: $3 million

Minnesota Out: #23 + $3 million + Jefferson
Minnesota In: #17 + Deng + Bobcats pick

Chicago Out: #17 + Deng + Bobcats pick
Chicago In: #23 + 24 + Jefferson

MIN needs its flexibility because they don't have a strong idea of what the team will look like in two years. For me, Deng locks up too much longterm money into a #3 option and that ties our hands. If we were going to get Deng, I wouldn't want to make an offer until we had our finances set and knew who our #1 and #2 options would be.

I could see them doing that if they wanted to trade up for say the 18th, or even wanting to use one or both of 23 and 24 to move 16 up for something better. But I don't see the point of buying it when doing the deal without it should be fine. And I don't like Deng either. He's injured AGAIN and is paid far too much to struggled with it as much as he does.

If someone could show me a deal to consolidate our 1sts to move up...then I would do it...but in general...

NO to Deng
NO to buying the pick and using it...

No to Deng.
Yes to buying the pick (it's not my money).

23 and 24 for 19 or 18? I know Miami is trying to save money but they could use the cheap talent and Boston could always use more youth

oops, I forgot to post that one. I had that trade all mapped out, but then got creative and gave the pick to Chicago instead. If we wanted to take it a step further, we could combine #17 and #18 if someone we wanted was available, but I would probably be against that because I don't like a lot of the late late projected lottery pick.

Sorry, I would never actually do this, but I'm just a little draft happy.
