MN/GSW Trade Question

Okay i have seen this trade on the trade board and it has been talked about some here.
GS Offers: #4
MN Offers: Love + #16
If this were to work the way the lottery plays it out. I have a question
If we trade the pick to get Favors...hes only 6ft10 would be play PF? or and Undersized C?
And either way what would we do with Jefferson? Do we want to play a small 6ft 10 PF/C combo again this year? Or if we trade for favors does that mean Jefferson too will be out for a SG/SF?

My personal preference, if that trade went down, would be to play a three-man rotation with Darko-Al-Favors. Start Darko at C and Al at PF, then substitute in Favors at PF and slide Al over to C.
C: Darko (32), Jefferson (16)
PF: Jefferson (16), Favors (32)
something like that.
I'd also prefer not to use the #16 in the Love for Favors trade. The 23 pick seems like it should be sufficient. If someone held a gun to my head, though, I'd throw in the 16.

in my opinion i would rather have the 23 pick than 16 pick because i think it makes me sense i think Love > Favors and we shouldn't even have to throw in another pick..but like you said if a gun was to my head i do it.

From the trade board:

He is bigger, more athletic, and a worlds away better defender. Having a Kidd-type pg in Rubio makes me think that Kidd worked great with Martin/Amare. Favors improves our defense, is still a decent rebounder, and would bring that athletic ability.
I like love, but I think this is the type of swing for the fence deal. Even if Rubio does not come over it would give us a foundation of Favors and Turner.

Favors is going to disappoint many a person. I'm ready to go to war on this one.

I don't know - didn't you promise us that Jefferson and Love would be great together? Why should I trust you this time?

sorry, there's something really important going on in the other room, probably a fire or something, so I can't answer that, this fire is an emergency and I'm the only one that can help

Well, lock and load then. Between the body/athleticism, the defensive effort, his play as a freshman, and the good attitude, I want him on this team.

I'm with esohny. I think he's a stud. A future franchise cornerstone. Attitude and a defensive mindset in a big man with his athleticism is all to rare these days. Rubio - Turner - Favors is the dream. i would sell the farm to get those three.

I would, too. Particulalry since the farm doesn't seem to be growing super crops.

he looks like a less athletically assertive version Chris Wilcox to me. If he becomes really good I think it'll be because of personal improvement or great coaching, but I really hate trying to assume that kind of stuff.

Lets us remember Derrick Favors as Devil vs Rev. We both have pretty good draft records. I am not sure if we have ever been squarely against each other on a prospect before.

whats the standard then, because I think he's an NBA lifer, I just don't think he's a star. Tyson Chandler syndrome. Was he a worthy pick? There's a lot to debate in there.

Problem is I think a lot of it will be system based.

Favors haters -- why can't Favors be the Russell Westbrook version of this year's PF/C crop?
