News on Pekovic? Where is Rambis?

In other European news, poster in-the-game just posted a fanshot with the information that apparently Nikola Pekovic has an agreement with the Wolves and will be coming over this season. There are other interesting tidbits from the translated Greek article, which extensively "quotes" Tony Ronzone. You should check it out.http://www.canishoopus.com/2010/5/7/146 ... arcelona-vProbably is pre-mature info but still worth noticing. Also, is anyone else suprised they have not announced Tony Ronzone yet?
David Kahn and agent Dan Fegan are in Paris today, watching Wolves draft pick Ricky Rubio play right now in the opening game of the Euroleague's Final Fourhttp://www.startribune.com/sports/wolve ... olves.htmlOriginally I thought Kahn was going with him out there. I wonder what happened?

I also could not find the article he references about Tony Ronzone.
As far as Pekovic. I am guessing it is media coming to conclusions before anything is hammered out but I will take it as Pekovic was telling the truth that he truly is interested in playing in the NBA.

I hope to see Pekovic play in the Rookie-Sophomore game, but Splitter, Favors, Cousins, Griffin, and a few other bigs could give him some competition.

Good consolation with Rubio not coming over next season.
Who is odd man out between Jefferson, Milicic, Love, and Pekovic?

Milicic has to stay because we don't want to lose him for nothing. Pekovic has an agreement to come over here, so I'm going to assume he's here next year. I'm sure either Jefferson or Love will be traded (hopefully we can get WJ among other assets), but it all depends on the offer.

Would we truly be losing much, considering that Darko was obtained for nothing?

Rambis is in L.A. doing guest commentary for the Lakers. My friend is convinced that he'll leave the Wolves for the Lakers whenever Phil retires. Hopefully that won't be this year.

Doesn't really matter what we invested, the fact is now he should be considered an asset. We should definitely try and sign him and work out the details later. Can Pekovic/Milicic play on the court at the same time? Can Pekovic guard 4's?

Unfortunately he's been one of our best true centers in years. He's still an asset no matter how you get it (which did actually cost us a little bit of dough).

If this past season was the real Coach Rambis I'd pack his bags for him and drive him to the airport. Even Vinny del Negro totally out coached him.

Rambis wasn't coaching to win. He spent the entire year teaching. Can't blame him in my opinion. If he would have done it your way we might be looking at a pick in the 5-7 range.

Oh don't get me wrong, I hope he was tanking and I appreciate the pick. I'm just gripped by fear that WAS trying to win.

He certainly had his share of rookie coaching mistakes but it's really hard to judge the guy based on that steaming pile they called a team this year. He deserves the benefit of the doubt until he has some legit talent to coach.

As for Pekovvic, I think I'm happy with this. My only concern is fit with Darko and JefferLove. Darko and Peko seem like pure centers to me.

I agree that we should re-sign him if the price is reasonable, I but I wouldn't riot if Kahn decided to go in a different direction and say, traded up from the 16 and drafted Aldrich to be the center, and used the cap space for Rudy Gay instead of Darko.

As you can clearly read in the article above, Ronzone is already at it and involved in reaching an agreement with Pech. Pretty good news. I'm excited to see what the Pekmeister will bring to the table if this goes down.

Also, they make it sound like there is a sliver of a chance that Rubio could consider leaving Bartselona as soon as this year. I wonder what the dirty details on that buyout would be?

You think that was an old quote from Fred Hoiberg? They got a few names wrong due to the translator. Like Kevin Love was, Kevin Lvov.
