The Draft Lottery Thread!

Post#1 » by Calinks » Sat May 8, 2010 12:58 am

Draft lottery is coming up and I figured we could use a thread to discuss that pivotal 5 minutes of NBA action. A couple of questions.
Image

1. Who are we sending? I heard PA I believe, on Kfan tell Kahn that if he was right about Supersaver winning the Kentucky Derby, then Kahn should send him to New york. Kahn said that sounds fair and Supersaver did win. Are we sending him?

2. Let's say the wolves fall to the 3rd or 4th pick. Every draft there is at least one stand out player that doesn't go top 3. Who could that guy be? Who are we taking then? What do you feel would be the best course of action.

The rights to the first 8 picks in the 2009 Draft belong to Western Conference teams proving once again that the Western Conference sucks to play in.

West: Curry, Hill, Matthews, Casspi, Budinger, Lawson, Ibaka, Beaubois, Young, Rubio, Griffin, Collison, Evans, Thornton, Blair, Harden, Flynn

East: Holiday, Douglas, DeRozan, Jennings, Jerebko, Gibson.

PA confirmed on KFAN's Wolves Chat that he'll be backstage, but not on camera for the NBA Lottery.

Hey, I was right about Paddy O'Prado coming in 3rd at the Derby. I'd be willing to go. Look at it this way: I've never been and the Wolves have never won the lottery. Coincidence?

And if we pick #4 I would hope we pick Favors, if he is available. He might go 3, though.

Amazingly funny !!!!!!!!!!!!

Rubio 6'4" ... Flynn
Turner 6'7" ... Brewer
Deng 6'7" ... Brewer
Love 6'9" ... Pekovic
Milicic 7'0 ... Pekovic
Flip response to Love wanting out, "He has no reason to be upset, you're either a part of the problem or a part of the solution"

Wow, I didn't realize that the Lottery is only 10 days away. May 18th is going to be a good day. Draft lottery AND Red Dead Redemption comes out.

Too bad I am broke and my 360 is dead! I had Red Dead and a working xbox I wouldn't play until after the lottery. If we wound up falling to 3 or 4 I would play the game and be instantly cheered up. If we won well then... all the better!

Favors? That's another Pf correct? Why do you like him so much? I don't know much about the top prospects this year.

2007 Foye brings water that was blessed
2008 Hoiberg brings a bear
2009 Love brings clippers
2010 Kahn brings Paul Allen

As an expert on luck, I can say that I knew this would happen. http://forums.realgm.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=906133 We need Hoiberg for luck, not moleman.

WTF? So we helped the Lakers, Grizzlies, and Clippers get good picks.

So would GSW or Sacramento draft Cousins or Favors before Turner?

No. I could even see the Kings keeping Turner. For the Warriors, they could trade him or keep him. Ellis would be gone definitely. If they decide to keep Turner, they would trade Ellis for a big PF or C.

Any team that gets Turner will not want to trade him.

Favors? That's another Pf correct? Why do you like him so much? I don't know much about the top prospects this year.

I like him because he is athletic, plays defense, and has tremendous upside. I would really like to see a three-man rotation of Al-Darko_Favors with Al splitting the PF/C positions. Gives him a defender to play with at all times and Favors adds athleticism (I'm also envisioning no-look ally-oops from Rubio to Favors). It would mean moving Love to get him, though.

Wouldn't you like a little of this next year?
