Diaw / Crash Wallace

for

Big Al / Gomes

some triangle passing up the wazoo w/ Love/Diaw and better running team players. Diaw can play multiple positions off the bench and w/ free agency and the draft being totally stacked w/ bigs, gives us more flexibility. Crash is a rebounding extraordinaire, but he's called crash for a reason, he doesn't get regular injuries, he tends to puncture his lungs and stuff from time to time.

The obvious negative is that pre Big Al injury, this trade would seem pretty suck for MN. Wallace and Diaw have shown to be great team players though that give defensive effort and move the ball.

I'd do it... but I doubt Charlotte would without the deal being expanded. They were already thin on the wings with Jackson and Wallace playing 40+ mpg after their in-season trades. Plus, I think their biggest weakness as currently constructed is at the point (Jameer Nelson destroyed them in the playoffs) and the Woofies, of course, boast quite a collection of point men.

How about:

Jefferson, Sessions and Brewer

for

Wallace and Diaw

Charlotte gets an up-and-coming wing in Brewer (who has the potential to defend to Larry Brown's taste), as well as an obvious post upgrade in Jefferson and a solid point in Sessions. Wolves get the best player in the deal in Wallace. Even with these changes, if I were Charlotte I'd counter by asking the Wolves to take Diop or Mohammed instead of Diaw.

Good trade partners overall. Al would look a lot better playing next to established defensive players, and the Wolves could really use Wallace's production on the wings.

I wouldn't do that. Diaw has considerable negative value. Most Bobs fans hate the guy. We'd have 18.5M (or 1/3 the cap) locked in on Diaw and Wallace for the next two years. Not ideal for a rebuilding team. Both players will be 28 next year.

Would Charlotte do this?

Al and Sessions for Wallace and Diaw

I would.

al/Sessons for Wallace/Diaw would be interesting.

Diaw flat out does not rebound. He is more of a tweener then a SF. I have heard that he can defend the 3 spot decently, but offensively he is not a 3. I wonder with his passing skills if he could be a bench combo fwd.

I am a huge Wallace fan.
