Any interest from Minny for any of these deals?

Jazz #9 for Minny's #16 and #23

Jazz #9 for Kevin Love?

Jazz #9, Future Memphis 1st rd pick for Love, #23?

I'd possibly be interested in the 1st one, depending on who's there, or if we can package up our picks for Turner. 9 for Love is close, but I think it might be a little too low of value for Love.

What kind of protection does the memphis 1st have?

9 is very low for Love.

I might do the first deal.

#9 for 16 and 23 is the only one that is fair. I would be interested depending on who we took at #4. If we took Johnson or Aminu I would be interested. Hopefully we take Cousins though.

If MIN is going to blow it up and try to move up in the draft, the deal I like is post's, because I think its great for everyone:

UTA GIVES: Kirilenko + #9
UTA GETS: Prince (exp) + Gomes ($4/$1 mil) + $8/$5 mil in raw cap space

DET GIVES: Prince + #7
DET GETS: Jefferson

MIN GIVES: Jefferson + Gomes
MIN GETS: Kirilenko + #7 + #9

Utah should like it because it meets their financial and competition needs. Prince played well at the end of the season, and is probably at least as good as AK. The raw cap space allows UTA to keep Boozer without going over the lux.

The deal has had some support from Jazz fans on the Trade Board - take it back to the UTAH board and see what people think.

I would think that Utah would need more... maybe if we throw in Pekovic as well to help make up for Boozer leaving?

Right now, they are looking at losing Boozer for nothing very squarely in the face because they can't afford him. I think that its very unlikely the Jazz will go over the lux a second year .. their second ever... and there will be very few teams willing to send out that much cap space when it will be highly valuable ion trade for a team trying to attract a major free agent. Jazz fans on the Trade Board were not opposed, or asking for more assets, since they understand how valuable cap space will be, particularly to their franchise.

Here's a nice article about how the Jazz are competitive on the floor, but still run their team as a buisness.

1st deal would be legit. wouldnt mind coming out with Cousins(4)/Aminu(9) or Johnson(4)/Monroe(9)

Flynn/Sessions
Brewer/Ellington
Aminu/FA
Al/Love
Cousins/Pekovic

or

Flynn/Sessions
Brewer/Ellington
Johnson/FA
Al/Love
Darko/Monroe

This Jazz fan would do the AK + #9 for Prince and Gomes and cap relief. If you wanted to add the #23 or Pekovic that would be just fine too...

Only the first deal for me,

I do like Shrink's deal also.

but please, stop thinking Pekovic is a throw-in. 23 is fine, Pekovic has much more value.

I'd do the 1st deal although I think Utah will rather package the pick with Kirilenko like shrink suggested. I'd be interested in that deal as well. Kevin Love is a no go.

While I like it shrink, at some point you can have too many draft picks. The 23 and the 16 would need to go out if both the 7 and 9 are coming back, since there's no real point in combining them to trade up.

And I don't think Pekovic has that much value. Maybe I'm wrong and GMs have a higher opinion of him, but he looks to me like a one dimensional, unathletic player. He'd be awesome as a back up but I don't see him having a ton of value, although I could be wrong.

I have always thought that the higher your picks, the greater your likelyhood to combine than to move up. With our finish at #4 in the lottery, I think a trade like this has more value than ever to the Timberwolves. I'm not suggesting we draft 5 1st rounders.

But move up to where? Assuming Philadelphia wants Turner as much as us there's not many places to move up to.
