Front Court Depth next year

This is how I see the front court working out.

C-Darko Milicic
PF-Al Jefferson

Greg Stiemsma plays about 15-20 minutes a game and Kevin Love is likely dealt away so Stiemsma can develop.

Cousins/Darko
Love/Pick

:D This would absolutely not be the reason why Kevin Love is traded. More likely they try to dump Hollins, so Greg can fill Hollins' chair on the bench(er...I mean minutes)

Steimsma probably won't make the team.

this is my choice if we take cousins; I don't think Big Al and cousins fit, Cousins needs his touches to be effective. And if you make a list of the PER leaders for freshman centers in the NCAA the past 8 years, we'd be starting #1 and #2 according to that DX link in Cousins' profile, that's big time son

Right now, we have:

Jefferson + Love + Hollins on guaranteed deals.

Darko and Pekovic want to come over.

#4 BPA is likely to be Favors or Cousins.

Front court depth is not a concern of mine.

Ah you edited this before I can could in a snarky "thank you Dr. Obvious" remark

Milicic will likely leave if Jefferson gets traded. And if he's relegated to the bench, then he's gone for sure.

If you want him to stay, I suggest avoiding a big man in the draft.

He could still get 30 minutes. Darko and Cousins could play together some.

We won't give any consideration to Darko in determining who we take at 4 though.

Then he's gone. Good luck in Europe.

Cousins/Pekovic/Hollins
Love/Seraphin (?)

Are Darko and Al really that close?

If you want him to stay, I suggest avoiding a big man in the draft.

If getting Darko prevents us from taking the best player available, then screw him.

I agree. We will not give Darko a second thought when deciding who we pick. I really would love to have him here as he would still get plenty of minutes and fits in nicely with Cousins and Love. He said all that great stuff about Jefferson to position himself to be the starter next year so there is a chance he decides against it. I wonder if it would be better to start darko at first then move him to 6th man later, or just bring him under the impression that he is the 1st guy off the bench from the start.

Cousins / Darko
Love / (Athletic 4 or 3/4)
(Jefferson Trade!!!!)
Brewer/ Ellington
Flynn / Sessions

Still none of them are what I would call explosive and we would still have trouble guarding perimeter 4's, but its a start.

I am starting to come around on Cousins...lets just see who he measures out and performs in the workouts. I hope he measures out as a legit 6'11. he supposedly has a 7'6 wingspan so his standing reach should be in the 9'2 to 9'4 range.

All that being said, I have feeling that Khan man is going to go crazy come draft night.

we're in prime big man pick territory, and we might be in the same territory at #16, + pekovic, + tons of free agent bargains to come...we can't afford to guarantee Darko a starting spot, he's not a good enough player to do that

I heard Kahn promised him at least ten minutes a game off of the bench and a three year deal following this season. Of course that could just be a rumor.

Yeah, there's not a pennies worth of truth to that.

a 1 year minimum contract would probably be more than enough for a guy w/o a job
