trade with Philadelphia and more

Philadelphia is in the luxury tax, they will want to save money, so i think we could make this trade:
Philadelphia gives: #2 pick, Sam Dalembert
Minnesota gives: #4, Kevin Love
this way Philadelphia gets a young talanted bigman and save a lot of money for dropping 2 spot.

then i will trade Ricky Rubio, Wayne Ellington, Corey Brewer to Indiana for the #10 pick and Brandon Rush. Indiana will get their PG for the future, he will come in 2011 when they have a lot cap space and they will start their rebuilding with him. Minnesota have no need in Rubio if they have Turner so this way they get good deal for him.

then my draft will be:
#2 Evan Turner
#10 Avery Bradley
#16 Paul George
#23 Larry Sanders
#45 Da'Sean Butler

i will also bring Nikola Pekovic from Europe this summer.

this will give Minnesota amazing talanted young team, with cap space for the 2011 summer.

Jonny Flynn/Avery Bradley/Ramon Sessions
Evan Turner/Brandon Rush
Paul George/Ryan Gomes/Da'Sean Butler
Al Jefferson/Larry Sanders
Sam Dalembert/Nikola Pekovic/Ryan Hollins

this my plan for the perfect offseason!

they could draft Wesley Johnson, they need shooting, or they could use Love in another trade!

I think that Rubio is worth at least this by himself, no need to throw Ellington and Brewer in there.

they still have Mareese Speights who is better then Dalembert.

But he's not a centre, he's more of a stretch 4.

You had me until trading with the Pacers, no need. Just do the 76ers trade. Rubio will be huge for this franchise if we keep him.

You're right Foye .. I think they'd grab Cousins with the #4. It may be possible to acquire the #5 from SAC

I considered this option, but I think its too expensive, and using #7 + Kapono's cap space (which still gets them under the lux) still meets their needs, and uses Jefferson/cap space instead of Love/cap space.

There is no way Philly is going to trade the second pick unless they can unload Brand at the same time.

do you think they will do #2 pick and Brand for #4 pick and Gomes?

Love + cap space is way overpaying for a 2 pick jump. That indy deal is hideous.

The only way I see us trading up for 2 is if Philly decides Turner/Cousins is a coin flip and wants to get value in a trade down. And then nothing more than 16 and a small salary dump (willie green for Gomes), which actually makes sense because they can get a good SG at 16.

I wouldn't mind that. I value 16 highly because of the depth at sg/sf at that spot.
I'd then try to move Love for Wesley Johnson, and if that failed try to move Pekovic to get back into that 16 range for Henry, George, or James Anderson.

(Rubio) Flynn Sessions
Turner Brewer Green
(Johnson/Henry/George/Anderson)
Jefferson (Love/Pekovic)
Darko Hollins

Brand costs $50 mil over the next 3 years .. OKC's entire payroll only cost them $55.

Moving Brand is unrealistic.

I think this depends on how you evaluate the players. The wolves are going nowhere if they don't get a superstar (someone of at least Roy's skill level). If they think Turner (or Wall) has that potential then this seems a small price to pay. Love is good, cap space is nice, but if you can combine them for a true star I think you do it every time.

Yeah, Brand is completely unmovable. Certainly not for a two pick jump.
Kapono or Green for Gomes (and filler if necessary) is reasonable.

Philly landing 2 put them over the lux tax (would be around 68 mil on a 56 mil cap) at over 69 mil in salary committed already.

If that is true Philly certainly will not be trading Turner, no matter how much we try to overpay.
The only way we land Turner is if Cousins or Favors lands himself on the same tier, and at that point overpaying becomes unnecessary.

The Bulls dropped from 2 to 4 for Viktor freaking Khryapa a few years ago and gave up a future 2nd in the process. I think most of us are vastly overestimating what it would take to get to 2 from 4.
