Sacto-Det-Min

Sacto Out: #5
Sacto In:#7(Greg Monroe or Aldrich) and #16(Hayward or George)
Reason: Sacto moves down 2 picks to pickup a Greg Monroe or Cole Aldrich, and maybe a Small Forward at 16 that can stretch the floor at 16
Det Out: Prince and #7
Det In:Al Jefferson
Reason: Deal has been discussed at length both sides seem to like it.
Min Out: Al Jefferson and #16
Min In: Prince and #5(Wes Johnson)
Reason: Get a Veteran Winner with Length and is an expiring, we move up 2 picks in the draft with the 16.
I guess most people's decision comes down to how much they like Wes Johnson than Paul George, Gordon Hayward or any of the other small forward prospects at 16.

What's stopping GSW from holding WJ hostage? Isn't that what Portland did by drafting Foye?

I think you must have misread the trade. The Wolves would be taking Johnson at 5.

I'd might do this if we follow up with a Flynn + 23 trade to the Pacers for #10, and pick George there.

Sorry, I thought it said we were getting #7. I like it, but I wonder if we can take it a step further and trade Prince to a 4 team. That shouldn't be too hard, lots of teams would want a productive expiring,.

16 is too much. I would do 23 though.
Depends on whether Detroit prefers Prince+Monroe or Aldrich to Jefferson.
GS at 6 would be able to hold the player Sacto covets hostage, which is where the risk lies.
Similar to how Portland screwed our Foye/Roy swap with Houston up by taking a player they didn't want (Foye).
I think Sacto would like Aldrich at that spot, maybe Udoh or Monroe.

Its a nice trade Mattya, and if we want to annoy GSW and steal Wes Johnson from them, its a smart way to do it. We won't know the size of the gaps between 5 and 7 until closer to the draft (whether it'd take the #16) after we've had work-outs, interviews, etc, but I think this deal makes a lot of sense.

If this trade happened and we end up with Cousins, Johnson and Prince I think I would pee my pants with excitement.

This trade deserves an emmy.
I want to turn Prince into something else though, so I would probably trade Prince for Hinrich and Johnson.

This trade accomplishes the unthinkable win-win-win!!!! Sacto wants a big anyways, so they can move down and get the same player plus they get a very nice bonus in the #16 pick. Detroit picks up their low post scorer, 20/10 guy in Al Jefferson and we get Cousins and Johnson, plus a vet expiring contract Tayshaun Prince who has been in the league many years as a super skinny guy who could teach Brewer and WJ a thing or two. Sign me up!!!

Thats one of the reasons why I thought of the trade

See I really like Prince for that team. He is still really good, and we really need that veteran presence to teach the young guys the right way to play. I was thinking of teams to move Prince too without us adding long-term salary, I just couldn't think of any.

I'm just nitpicking. Do you have any intention of posting on Sac board or trade board?

I believe someone else already posted on the trade board.

Wait...Kirk Hinrich? The overpaid backup point guard?

oops, thought Prince and Hinrich both expired this year. I'll try to figure something out with TP later, he's a good expiring contract, but not enough minutes to share with Johnson.
Hmmm, I have to rethink this. I know everyone would hate me for saying this, but I think Prince will endorse a buyout (he could make plenty as a FA). I don't have time to finish, but my rough draft trade was Prince + 23 for RJ + 20 + cash to cover Prince's contract. Meh, at least we get to leapfrog Portland and OKC. I don't think I would do that trade (I want more), but I'm thinking of something along those lines.

It is a good idea, however starting two rookies is going to lead to yet another brutal year. This team definitely needs some quality veterans - if they could make the trade it would probably be a good idea to do it with the intention of keeping Prince.
