what is everybodys backgrounds?

Post#1 » by VelvetPancakes » Sun May 23, 2010 12:59 am

hey so I saw the thread on the trade board that shrink was arguing in against the philly fan and I was curious, what does everybody do? I check this site probably way too much (like many of you, I'm sure), and it would be interesting to see where the true twolf fans are and why they're such huge fans.

Well i'm a European basketball fan. I believe that the Euroleague players are better than NBA players, I like to Talk Basket, and have 198 IQ

Actually I'm a college student born and raised in Minnesota. I've been a fan since Googs was here. He made me want an awesome barb wire tattoo way back when I was in elementary school.

I used to live in Minnesota, so I always followed the team. Now I'm in Iowa taking accounting but I've become a bigger fan. Nobody knows what it's like to follow a team that nobody else likes. I'm all alone in this world.

I live in the St. Paul north suburbs. I'm a mechanical engineer at one of the medical device companies in town, and an MBA student at the U of M. I started following the Wolves after I moved here in '93, especially after KG was drafted.

I live in Fargo, but I was born and raised in Hibbing. I went to UND for geological engineering with a double minor in business and english; yet, somehow I work for a bank. I started following the Wolves in 92 with the Shaq/Zo/Laettner hosing.

I live in Melbourne, Australia. I'm in-between work and uni. I started supporting the Wolves in KG's early days, and followed them more closely when I could track it on the net.

I'm from the Philippines with a degree in Electronics Engineering and now I'm working in an IT company. I got hooked with the Timberwolves ever since I played NBA Jam. I think it's been more a decade now since I started following the Timberwolves.
It was my dream before to work somewhere in Minnesota so I can watch every game live. Hope that dream still pushes through sometime in the future :)

Recently graduated from University of MN Duluth with an Eled teaching degree (let me know/PM me if anyone in MN area hears about a mass hiring/job opportunity!, Thanks!).
Born and grew up in Northeast MN. Used to be a HUGE Jazz fan during the Malone/Stockton VS the Bulls years. Then I got out of hoops for 2 or 3 years, then the Wolves make it to the western finals completely under my nose. After that, I vowed to start watching again, and it's been a pretty awful time.
I think there is something about being in college that makes most males get way to into a sport. I chose the wolves.

I live at an unknown location just off the coast of Sri Lanka. I currently have no dancing girls but I drink Sanka brand coffee and drive a vintage Citroen. I attended Slippery Rock University and my testicles are shorn.

After being hardened on the bad streets of Cody Wyoming, I moved to Houston when I was six. Grew up there and, in addition to being a big Rockets fan (and Olajuwon fan in particular), I picked up "special skills". These skills did not go unnoticed. When I turned 18 I was approached by a recruiter who taught me how to hone those skills. Soon I was part of a team working for a branch of the government that nobody knows about. I traveled the world and was introduced to many famous and infamous people, although our meetings were usually brief.

In 1991 I moved from Houston to the Twin cities and started following the Timberwolves. Soon the glamour of traveling the world under assumed identities wore thin. I retired from active field duty in 2001. I moved to northern Minnesota and began working for a different branch of the government. I went back to school and got my Masters degree at Bemidji State and now I live 60 miles east of where Klomp grew up and I put my skills to use for good, not evil.

Return to Minnesota Timberwolves
