I'm more interested in seeing who people would want to take. Take Cousins and Favors and form what could be a great combo for years. Take one of Cousins or Favors and trade the other for Wesley Johnson + asset from a team like Sacto or GS.

I'd do it, but I'm also really high on the idea of teaming up Cousins, Favors, and Darko to have one of the longest big men rotations in the league.

I don't know how well Favors and Cousins would work out, but I kind of like Favors long term potential more then Cousins. Saying that though, I'd rather stick with Love if they're getting Cousins anyway.

I don't see the fit in NJ. Lopez and Love don't seem to work together for me. Favors and Lopez looks better on paper.

Seriously? That would be a great combo.

Lopez and Love? Not really. Lopez is more of a stretch player like Love. Someone that can play down low like Favors and bring some athleticism would be a much better fit.

I'd love to do this trade. I would actually take Favors and then Johnson at 4.

Couple ideas:
MN trades Rubio to NJ for #3, then sends the #3/#4 to Philly for #2
or
MN trades #4/Jefferson to Philly for Brand/#2

There are lots of deals I'd do, but it all comes down to the fact we need a goto guy ... Turner has the tools to be special. Rubio and Turner could be a special tandem and I have little doubt that Kahn would select Turner #1 if he had the #1 pick. The bad part at #4 is that we need to burn atleast one asset to even have a shot at Turner ... we just don't know who the asset will be ... Rubio, Jefferson, Love, FLynn, draft picks, cap space, etc...

What's the possibility of a lockout? Maybe we do what's necessary to get Turner for now (outside of Rubio), and if there's a lockout that affects the upcoming season, we're ready to roll in 2011. It's a gamble, but opening 2011 with Rubio and Turner.

I don't think I'm willing to give up a major asset to move up. I'd trade the other first round picks, but not Rubio, Love or take back Brand. There's not enough of a talent gap to justify it.

Me too...taking two more post players, just seems a bit too redundant given MIN current assets. We are lacking on the wings. If people prefer we can take cousins instead of favors, I just wouldn't want both.

Now if someone told me that Johnson is available at #7, I wouldnt want do it, but I would have to consider Prince/#7 for Jefferson.

That makes sense. I don't think Love gets traded anyway. Kahn was just quoted as saying that Kevin will be working with Rambis this off-season. So unless the Wolves get a really good deal, I doubt they get rid of him, as it seems like a big waste of time to trade him when you spend all summer trying to get him to improve under your system.

There is no way that Cousins and Favors together is a better than Jefferson and Love. No freaking way, everyone needs to stop being so worried about our defensive problems with Love and Jefferson, because that's important yes. But it's only half of the game, Jefferson and Love are GREAT on offense together and they enjoy each other as teammates. No one enjoys Cousins as a teammate and Favors is about a polished as a crackheads loafers. If you argue you want to draft one of the two big men and keep another of our guys then fine. But there is no way that the ceiling of both big men in the draft is higher than both of our current big men. Love is a amazing player and so is Jefferson, just because they don't fit doesn't mean you just shake the dice on two unproven players and hope for a fit.

The OP's deal is a good one, I'll take Aminu and Wesley #3 and #4 and run with:

Rube/Flynn/Sessions
Brew/Wesley/Ellington
Wesley/Aminu
Jefferson/Pek/Aminu
Darko/Jefferson/Pek


Know why? Because; Jefferson>Love>Favors>>Cousins. That's the order and I'll put $ on it.

Love would be more attractive to LeBron than the #3, but that's only if NJN talked LeBron and Wade into coming, and didn't have a PF coming their way.

I kind of feel this season that LeBron (and his agency) have more power putting together a team than any GM in the last 20 years.

I'm not big fan of Love/Jefferson defensively and feel that is a critical value to the team ... however, I'm also not a big Cousins or Favors fan and would prefer to tidy up our PG/SG/SF situation before passing too much blame on our interior play.
