If Phil Jackson ends up in Chicago (I know these are just rumors at this point) does Rambis bail for LA?

I hope so. Well, not quite yet, but I don't have high hopes that our players are going to "get it" this coming season.

If we trade Al, Love, and Flynn to get the players this guy wants and then he bounces I will be pissed beyond belief.

Don't be so quick to pass judgement. This past season was basically a tank job. Next summer we'll have a much better idea about his coaching and leadership abilities. Until then, not so much.

I don't think he even considers bailing. The Wolves have become his lil project, and I think he's fully committed to it.

Do the Lakers offer him the head coaching job? I've heard that they've got other choices.

Just 6 more wins from a team comprised primary of expiring contracts that supposedly tanked it? I'm not saying they will win a lot more than that, but if we end up with around 20 wins, then I want Rambis gone.

What if he tries to get stale?

He has a contract.

It all depends on what happens in the offseason with Cousins, Al, Love, Darko, Pekovic and the other picks as well as any free agents. I can't see this team, even best case, pushing more then 25-30 wins. I mean, we're not only in the hardest conference but also the hardest division. Utah, Denver, Oklahoma and Portland all got 50 wins last year.

Gotta agree here. I dont see us adding a whole lot of vets to the squad so I think replacing expiring contracts with rookies isnt going to get us 20 more wins. If we hit the 25 range and arent getting blown out on a daily basis and we actually show some toughness/effort I'll be hopeful.

Like Rev said, he is under contract. I think it was a 4 year deal, so I can't see him leaving. I think we'll cut him by 2013 if he and our players (Rubio in particular) don't mesh.

Hopefully we will add a vet or two that are better than Brian Cardinal, and we win a few more games, but I'm banking on yet another year of "player development".

What if they weren't tanking? This might be just about how good they were.

I assumed funk meant the roster was put together with the goal of securing a good chance at a high pick in this draft in mind.

The general consensus on RealGM is that we purposely tanked the season. I think Kahn acquired these guys for the sole purpose of wiping the slate clean, and hoped that they were at least somewhat competitive. The result was obviously underwhelming.

Next season Kahn will assemble a group of players who should be an actual team. Unless he makes some really bone-headed moves that is.

So the rest kinda goes on Rambis. We've heard a lot of players giving carefully worded criticism about his style. I think the players have doubts. Not to mention Glen Taylor basically saying he didn't sign up for another season like this. We need to see improvement. A 20 win season really isn't improvement, and I think Taylor would agree.

Would the Lakers take Rambis? That's a more accurate question. No GM is going to be knocking his door down asking him to come to LA--especially if they don't win a title. If Phil Jackson can't deliver the title to LA, how can a guy who just coached a team to a 15-win season going to pull it off? A more likely situation would be a guy like Larry Brown. I think people are over-estimated Rambis' link to LA. I don't think he was ever considered Jackson's successor.

Yeah, with the amount of assets we have to work with this summer, combined with players having more time to learn the system(even though we may have like 6 new players again) I think we'll see significant improvement next year, definitely 29-37 wins.
