we were talking about a possible trade and someone on the pacers board asked about the pacers trading. Chad ford said something like this
Danny Granger
4
Flynn/4th/16th
I mean we would have to put more players in to get the salaries right but Would u guys do that?

I absolutely wouldn't do it, and I highly doubt that Kahn would.
Granger is certainly very talented, but he's very injury prone, paid quite a bit, and hasn't taken his team anywhere as the main option. Edit: Also, at 27, Granger is way older than the current Wolves' core.
I'd do Jefferson and Flynn for Granger, but Flynn, two picks, and a boat load of cap space is too much.

If we had to trade for a swingman, I would just trade for Iguodala. I would rather have Granger, but Granger never really has been on the trading block. Indiana needs Granger, so we would have to really overpay. Iguodala is expendable because Philadelphia has Young, they need to make space for Turner, and they want to cut salary.
With that said, I would see if we could simply trade Jefferson for Wesley Johnson (the trade will be a little more complex than that).

Awful, awful deal for the Wolves.
4th pick + 16th should be more than enough to grab Granger.

That would be far more than I would want to pay.

Oh, and no chance.

Granger might make us win enough games to give LAC our 2011 pick, but not enough wins to make the playoffs.

4th pick alone is too much for granger.

I'd do Sessions, Al and a pick swap for Granger. I'd probably be willing to put Flynn in instead of Sessions if Bird insisted. I doubt that would be enough from Indy's perspective.

When did Granger get so overrated? The dude is a heck of a scorer, but he's already 27 years old, he's making 11+ million dollars a year for the next few years, he's played 67 and 62 games the last 2 years, and he's failed to take his team to the playoffs in the Eastern conference every year since his rookie year.
He's worth more than Jefferson, sure, but not much more. He's not worth the 4th pick, and he probably isn't worth throwing in 11 million dollars of cap space on top of other value.

Flynn/4th/16th
That sounds like something we'd offer Turner

Yeah, but Turner is younger, paid much less, and projects to be a better player, and I wouldn't be happy if we made that trade either.
And as a side note:
The ESPN talking heads seem to think that 4 + 16 for 2 is a fair deal, so adding Flynn might even be overpaying.

People overrate draft picks so much this time of year. I think you'd be crazy to think the 4th pick in this draft is worth more than Danny Granger. Add a 26 ppg scorer at the 3 and our team is improved tremendously.

I agree. And I wonder if our front office is as high on Flynn as they once were...

Shrug. Add any SF that's at all above average and we're much improved.
