Here's a link to espn. You need insider though. I'm sure they will be up on DX within moments if they are not up already.

First throughts:

Cousins is quick but not a leaper (we already knew). Luke Babbit, holy crap, you just become a top 10 pick possibly. Turner isn't a leaper. Maybe those Roy comparisons aren't accurate. People thought Roy was unathletic but then he jumped 40.5" at the combine (Turner was 34.5").

I think they're interesting for the sake of comparison (Wall v. Rose) however I don't put any substantive stock in them. Everything I need to know about a guy's leaping, strength, speed, etc. is easily seen in the game where it matters most. Height/length is different in that these things are not as easily known (at least accurately) and aren't at least partially the result of how good you are at taking agility tests and the like.

Yep, as fun as it is to look at these numbers and draw conclusions, you don't have to look further than Kevin Love (who's max vertical was just as good as Anthony Randolph and Dwyane Wade and 3/4 sprint was the same as Chris Paul and .01 second slower than Jonny Flynn) to know that these measurements really don't mean much of anything. If a guy looks athletic in college, he's going to be athletic in the NBA regardless of what the numbers say.

Something else to think about:

AQuintus wrote:The vertical numbers seemed really low to me for a lot of guys so I looked back at the numbers for the guys that measure previously:

Luke Harongody:

2009: 27" no step, 31" max
2010: 24" no step, 28.5" max

Damion James:

2009: 30" no step, 37" max
2010: 29" no step, 33" max

Gani Lawal:

2009: 30" no step, 34.5" max
2010: 27" no step, 31.5" max

This is another reason why these tests don't mean much, they very widely year to year even with the same people.

Edit: Fixed a typo in Lawal's measurements.

Impressed with James Anderson's numbers. I've narrowed down the 16 to Babbitt, George, Henry, or Anderson. One of those 4 has got to be it. They all tested positively, so there is a chance they are all off the board, which would suck majorly for us.

Is it possible these guys were more commited to physical training after not making the NBA last year?

Do you really think that their thought process was, "Oh I didn't get drafted, so instead of working my butt off, I'm going to coast the rest of the year and lose millions of dollars."?

I seriously doubt that. If anything, it would probably make them more committed, especially Harangody, who's draft stock is bad because of his poor athleticism.

There are other examples of this happening in past years, too. Obviously the sample size is small because not many people go through the combine twice, but it does show that these tests probably aren't all that accurate.

Those players probably just got a little stronger and the added weight affected their vertical.

I think they lowered the floor a couple inches this year.

The downgrade in Turner's vertical makes sense to me, somebody just got max and no-step mixed up when they put the graphic up during the broadcast. Weird to see Jordan Crawford's 36" no-step turn into 31.5" no-step and 34.5" max. Ford also stated on Twitter Babbitt's 3/4 court sprint was 3.19, but has him listed at 3.4.

Lazar Hayward tested very well. 7'0.75" wingspan, 31" no-step, 36" max, 10.87 agility (although that's mostly technique). Gordon Hayward was good in every athletic category other than the agility drill. Disappointing lack of participation by Bledsoe and George.

Harangody:

2009: 240 pounds, 11.2% BF
2010: 240 pounds, 11.1% BF

James:

2009: 224 pounds, 8.2% BF
2010: 227 pounds, 9.6% BF

Lawal:

2009: 229 pounds, 7.2% BF
2010: 233 pounds, 6.3% BF

Some slight changes, but nothing that would drop 3 inches off of someone's max vert.

Anyone else find it funny Henry only managed to bench 8?

Henry has really long arms, and those guys usually aren't good benchers. Durant put up 0.

dang, I was hoping to see numbers for Bledsoe, guy is almost the exact same size as me, he's got me in wingspan by about a half an inch and 20lbs, but I have him in standing reach by about an inch. Its lovely to see just how not cut out for the NBA I am compared to someone my size.

But Durant was skinny and strength was a question for him anyway. Henry is widely known for his strength.

Just thought he'd reach double digits at least.
