Was very interested in seeing if Minny would take on Bogut/2011 1st (T10 protected) for the 4th pick? I like to see what he is worth to other teams.

No. Not off that injury. We don't value him as much because we not only lose the #4, but also significant cap space, meaning for us the trade is #4 + what we could get with that cap space for Bogut.

I'd be in favor of a package based around Jefferson or Love for Bogut, but the injury concerns, along with wondering what kind of defender he'd be away from Skiles, would make me hesitant to give up the #4 for him.

The injury he suffered at the end of the year has no effect on anything basketball related moving forward, maybe his confidence. I guess that is true though, the deal becomes the 4th + whatever FA you can get for Bogut/future 1. I also guess it depends on the FA though, say if it was like Rudy Gay, Rudy Gay/4th Pick for Bogut/future 1. That would mean Gay is making 10mil + per year though. Then you could also move one of Jefferson/Love, probably Jefferson. Yeah, the 4th + whichever FA might be to much to give up for Bogut.

It's more a matter of 60% of his professional seasons being cut short by injury than that specific injury impacting his ability going forward.

I really like Bogut as a player, and if we could work out a deal for maybe Love or Al plus something for him I'd be all over it. He's the 2nd best center in the league and is good on both ends of the floor.

He went down April 3rd, played in 70 games this year. Are you talking about his back which made him miss 45 games 2 seasons ago?

We really like Bogut as well, in fact I don't think you'd have anyone on our forum that would deal Bogut straight up for the 4th pick. I was just seeing what his value is to other teams.

I'm talking about how he's missed double digit games in three of his five professional seasons, which would be 60% of them. The injury frequency combined with a fairly recent back injury (which is probably one of the more concerning injuries in terms of long term worries for a big man) make him an injury concern.

I think you'd be better off dealing with Sac or Detroit. I'd prefer the cheaper w/ more upside (yes gamble too) Cousins or the much cheaper Darko for us. If we were immediately shifting in to win now mode and also dealt for Granger or something, then it would be a different story. Problem is, we're not getting another star caliber player without the #4 pick.

Yes, but I am biased when it comes to Bogut.
I agree with some of the concerns raised, but I do think he'll be back better than ever. He's overcome a lot of injury troubles so far in his career, and he'll overcome this.
I don't think the two teams could come together and agree on a trade though. Purely because of the reasons mentioned.

No thanks. Maybe base something around Bogut for Jefferson/16
