It's no secret that the Pacers Need a Point Guard. We would trade for either Sessions or Flynn (will you ever play Rubio?). Which is more expendable to your organization and what would you want/need for the Blue and Gold to make this happen?

#10 for Flynn.

#10 for Flynn is the best fit.

for ford/10 to make salaries work.
you can have sessions for the same deal, but he is worth less than Johnny in trade-value.

granger and #10 are the only things I'd really be interested in.

well we want to keep all our stuff and take your assets for free too, but thats not the typical procedure

Meh, not a huge fan of Flynn for #10...I still think its a little early to give up on Flynn. But IF the wolves wanted a little more cap space for 2011...

IND gets a pg who is the better facilitator, which may mean he is more valuable on a team with Granger, Murphy, Dunleavy, Hibbert, etc. They can either keep gomes as a good role player, or cut him for 3mil in savings this year. And they get a 1st round which they would otherwise not have a if they did the Flynn + #10 deal. And hollins is MIN's only real unwanted contract at about 2 mil per year for the next couple years.

MIN gets the #10 pick, and they take on Ford who appears to be pretty much worthless, but they could use him as backup to Flynn, and let Flynn get more playing time this year. Regardless, he expires after this year, and in the process the wolves moved Hollins gigantic contract.

Sorry no real effort...Indiana does not move me...unless Granger was involved...

No. flynn's value is about equal to #10. Nothing other than 10 and granger hold much interest.

Ford is okay, but it'd be like paying 10 mil a year for Paul George or X Henry or whatever. Not really big on taking back salary unless its for the #2 (but not Brand) or a borderline star

Lots of good stuff in this thread. First, let me recap.

Flynn or Sessions make a great deal of sense for IND. They have designed their payroll so that next summer every player except Granger and youth on rookie scale deals will be gone. This will be one of the youngest teams in the league, and will be ready for an immediate rebuild. However, the one position they don't have youth at is PG, and there's no reason to invest more minutes into TJ Ford, when he's clearly not the future. There is nobody in this draft at #10 in this draft that who would provide a better PG opportunity than Flynn or Sessions, and TJ Ford is an expiring.

For MIN, its tough for me to give up on Flynn. I have always believed that it takes a couple years to see what you have in your PG, because its the most difficult position to learn. Flynn probably had it worst than rookie PG's, because his teammates are also young, he's got a new coach, and the offense does not compliment his skills. Kahn said last week that he thinks that Flynn has the potential to not only be a decent starting PG, but an All Star. Now I don't know if that's not just pumping up trade value, but several PG's, like Deron Williams and Rondo, did not even look as good as Flynn the first year.

On the other hand, MIN can't corner the market here. IND has several decent choices from many teams on a promising young PG, since the last draft was full of them. Moreover, we all know that when Rubio comes over, he'll be handed that starting job and Flynn's trade value may decrease, so there may be some incentive for MIN to trade early as well.

There are several deals here that I like. I think I'd prefer to trade Sessions over Flynn. Sessions just turned 24 (Flynn is 21), so he's probably young enough, and IND may put a little extra value into the fact that he's locked into that cheap deal for the next three years. IND has also seen what Sessions can do in MIL. However, I think they'd like Flynn a bit better, with more youth and upside.

I would probably be OK with #16 + Sessions + Gomes or Hollins for #10 + TJ Ford, and I think that makes sense for IND as well. They can still grab a decent player at #16 and moving TJ Ford makes the transition a little quicker. Flynn and #23 for #10? Its not unfair, but I'd probably prefer to give another year to our lottery prospect.

Lastly, if we acquired the #10, I'd like to do it as quickly as possible, so we can run through the permutations of trading up during the draft. If we waited until after, players get chosen that may not fit a trading partner, and it usually reduces the trade value of the picks.

It would be like paying 4 million for one year for ford, and we would save about 5 million next year if we dealt flynn, and close 6 if we dealt sessions.

I prefer to use 16+23 to move up rather than trade flynn or sessions,
but having 10 and 16 could be awesome (or crappy if all our players are gone at 16).
Imagine a Cousins/George/Henry or Babbitt draft, without having to give up Love, Flynn, Rubio, or Jefferson. That could be a sick team when Rubio joins next year.

I'm not a fan of Flynn for #10 at all. He had a good rookie year and will improve. We should wait to see how he plays when he actually has shooters around him first.

Flynn + 16 for 10 is a joke.

Flynn + 23 or Sessions + 16 might be possible if someone drops to 10, but they're not great deals.

Don't see a workable deal really. I don't want to give up Flynn and I doubt you'd give up the 10 or guys like Hibbert for Sessions.

And you're not getting the 16 under any circumstances.

I'd do 23+Sessions+Gomes/hollins for 10 and Ford, but I don't think Indy moves the 10 unless they get a main piece better than Sessions back. It's a shame IND doesn't have a pick in the teens, because sessions would make more sense there. Maybe trade Sessions to indy for a future top 10 protected 1st and one of the sub-par wings or Ford.

This is annoying because both teams have pieces the others want, but the value attached both monetarily and talent-wise doesn't fit.

Flynn plus 16 for 10 is insane. Flynn was the #6 pick last year and still shows plenty of promise. He's much more highly valued around the league than some of you are giving him credit for and now you want to throw it out the window?

Also, this isn't a deep PG draft. JF is probably very desirable right now. If anything, I would think the 10 plus something else from Indy for Flynn. In the end, I don't see us giving up on him just yet.

Yeah, I'm not throwing Jonny away either. He's worth more than the 10 to me. 16 and 23 for 10 is the consensus deal.
