Anthony Morrow?

What are everyone's thoughts on Anthony Morrow? Im not sure if this has been discussed yet or not, but I really like his game. I think a pure shooter like him could really benefit our team, especially Jonny's assist numbers/ overall development. He has lead the league in 3 pt. shooting as a rookie, and really knows how to move to get open. He is an instant upgrade over Ellington, and could be a really nice piece to the puzzle as a backup 2 gaurd. Especially if we want to get out and run some more.
thoughts?

I like him but I think the cost of paying him enough to get him away from Golden State won't be worth what he brings. If he could maybe be a starter then I could get behind it, but as a back up I'd be fine with just rolling with Ellington.

It's so hard to truly evaluate Warriors players given the system they're playing in. But I agree with shangrila, good player, hard to propose a deal both sides would agree on.

Exactly. Morrow has a limited skillset, but what it is limited to is very effective at the NBA level. However, overpaying him would be the only way to get him out of GS and IMO that would be a dumb move by any team hoping to pry him away from us.

I haven't watched a ton of Morrow, but I do think that the Golden State system is very guard friendly, so that gives me some concern. I agree that to get him, we're going to have to overpay him and for that reason I wouldn't do it as I'm really not sure he's a full time starter.

I'd offer 5 mil a year, if GSW matches, not a huge loss.

Yes to Morrow he's perfect for our team. We don't need Horford tho

The strengths Morrow could bring to this team can't be ignored, but I want a wing player who can create his own shot in half court isolation situations. Morrow is lights out with his feet set, and decent at creating separation coming off curls. Dude is also a competent defender. He also happens to be one of the worse ball handlers in thr NBA. I wouldn't mind going after him bit this team needs a wing player who can really go on his own.

Doubt anyone will be able to get Marcus from the Hornets. What about Tony Allen?

I agree about getting a player to create...
getting Morrow along with Evan Turner would be great.
Corey can move to the 3, his more natural spot.
a gaurd/wing lineup of..
Flynn/ Sessions
Turner/ Morrow / Ellington
Brewer/ George
would provide a great mix of skill sets.. morrow would be a nice 6th/7th man

I think Morrow and Rudy Fernandez are the best options for us. Not both, but either of them. Rudy would cost more in terms of assets, but is probably the better player. Rudy Gay on the other hand is just too costly.

At least Rudy Gay is a legit starting wing.

Which we will probably address in the Draft, if not with the 4th, then by moving up into the lottery to grab someone.

His handles may be worse than Brewer's, no thanks.
